Do you think you possibly can add function so .img and .iso files are started correctly for 0.5.4 release? I think you said it was "simple" :)
And the functions are really there in MP core I guess.

i would like to see movies maintaining the folder structure as i have grouped similar movies in the same folder like all die hard movies in the same folder.
and i have movies in different network shares so it would be perfect to group all movies under this plugin but maintaining their folders for order.
oh and i have some titles that the plugin cant find at all...like new york taxi.

A lot of my DVD backups are on data DVDs with about 6 movies per disc. It's be great to see better handling of offline media, having used the beta it looks like I can scan the removable disc only when I hit the "Force Scan" button otherwise it never seems to pick up new movies when I stick in a new data DVD.

Once I take the DVD out the film still stays in the database as I set the path up as "Removable Media".... However if I click "play" when using the plugin it just tells me the removable media is not available..... Which of my 100 data DVDs is the film going to be on? It'd be awesome if we could also store the volume name as all my data dvds have titles such as "Movies-0029".

Otherwise seems to be working sweet so far......

maybe it falls under "logo support" but what i would be greatly interested in is:
an inidication which movies are in HD format (720p or 1080p) and which not. for me it would suffice that mkv is HD and xvid/divx is SD. however it would be handy to be able to set this up in the plugin config for the movies in question, maybe even to add an HD 720p or HD 1080p logo as the ones attached

let me know what you think ;)

    thanks,

    kian

+1 on this one. I would even add that it would be great to see it even if the movie is not focused. Something like a star in the list or something. Or may be this will be something we ll be able to filter?

That's coming. I just need to flesh out the removable media system. That should be one of the sooner rather than later features.

Yep, that falls under logos, and yes that is something you would be able to filter by as well once the filters system is in place.

    I voted Other:

1: (Copied from the first thread, so you allready have read it:)
I would like to ask for a feature that I have thought of for a long time now. I don't know if this is even possible, and it's not something for the initial release at all.

When having a large number of movies to choose from, sometimes deciding which one to watch can be hard. This grows even harder the more people you are, since everyone has some different favorites. If this is just dvd movies, often I have resolved this problem by taking the movies that are "in the running" and lining them up next to each other, to get sort of an overview of the situation.
I would love it if this could be transfered to Mediaportal.
I was thinking something along the lines, when you're browsing the movies, pressing Info button gives you an option to "add to x list (x being a cool name for this feature :-P". When doing this with a couple of movies you could go enter the x list, giving you a view where only the movies you selected are visible, making it a lot easier to choose, because you won't get confused with running up and down your entire library and finding the movies.

2: Support of full DVD backups, in .IFO

3: An "in-plugin" way of editing movies that does not have 100% match.
For this plugin to be of use to the "non-technical" people (for whom I see this plugin as a great leap forward), there needs to be a way in the mediaportal GUI to select corect match for movies that is not auto-matched (sort of like TV-series does it).
However, I'm not fond of the pop-up way of TV-series to do this, since sometimes you just want to watch a quick show, and you can get bothered withpopups at the start.
Instead, I suggest that when there is unmatched movies, these are listed in the movies section as the first entry. Instead of the movie "300" being the first in the list, You get a "Unmatched Movies". Click on this and it takes you to a part of the plugin where you get a list of all the unmatched movies, suggestion for these and the ability to match them up with the right ones. Perhaps even a thumbnail of the cover and the brief description for each suggestion for a given movie. Sometimes it is hard to find the right movie, but this would be easier if you had a cover shot and a short description.
After the movie has been matched, these temp-pictures and text-lines could just be deleted.

I know that was 3, but that is somethings that I really like. Hard to pick just one of them. Logo support would be great, but I can easily live without it - to me, it's just a cosmetic "gimmick" (no offence, it looks great!).

Full DVD (IFO) support and in GUI close match resolution we will definitely be doing. I like your suggestions for close match resolution though. i was planning on just implementing it the saem way as MPTV-Series, but you got me thinking. We could probably come up with some kind of smooth attractive, non-intrusive solution...

As far as your first issue goes, I remember you mentioning it before, and I like the idea. I am trying to think of an elegant way to implement something like that into the plug-in though... Maybe through the filtering system... Anyway I made an issue for this and marked it tentative. I think it's a good idea, but to get a good idea on how to implement, I think the product needs to mature a little bit. But of course I don't want the idea to get lost either. ;)

First of all, I love it!

But I was wondering. Is there a possability to add this plugin twice at mediaportal? One for Small Definition Movies and one for High Definition movies? Because I would like to see them seperated from each other.

(It will be a couple of days before I can reply. I'm leaving for Berlin tomorrow ;)

Not without rebuilding it yourself and setting a different Window ID. If you are technically inclined you can give it a go, there is a pretty good developers guide on how to get to the point of building the DLL. I think window ID and the DLL name are the only things needing a change, but I could be wrong on that...

Goes without saying, this is an unsupported suggestion. ;) But if you are so inclined...

In the near future, when filtering gets implemented, you will be able to sort through your movies by resolution though. So this feature is coming, without having to have two identical plug-ins.
