You could report this to the maker of mc2xml and ask him what the requirements/prerequisites are for the program.
Apparently, something about your configuration is nok, that is missing, misconfigured, ....
I've been using tvxb since the startup of my project, in combination with the server xmltv plugin.
I'm currently combining multiple sources into one tvguide.xml file for 70 channels (Flemish, Englisch, Walloon, French, German, Italian, Spanish channels and more)
For Belgian channels (and some others) I'm using input from humo. Some channels span over 2 pages. It took me a bit of time to figure out how to deal with this.
Situation :
Very nice, well equiped machine (specs doesn't matter)
Win7
for the moment : MP and TVserver 1.0.2
1 Hauppauge PVR PCI (double tuner)
Very soon :
Extra DVB-S tuners for TV-Vlaanderen (with HD)
Problem :
EPG (what else ?)
In Dutch : Ik kan het bos niet meer zien door de bomen (In English : I'm f*cked up )
I just want EPG, I tried several programs, but nothing works, well, It seems I'm missing some steps.
I just uninstalled everything MP, SQL,... related to be able to start a fresh install when I find a good manual to let EPG work with my config.
Pokerface : I'm a MCSE, MCSA and CCNA (and more), but cann't get EPG to work...
xmltv-plugin enabled... (slapped my twice because it wasn't)
:-(
mc2xml.exe is not a valid win32 application
The DOSprompt didn't work :
C:\Program Files\Team Mediaportal\Mediaportal\xmltv (I made the dir myself)
mc2xml -c be -g 8670 -o tvguide.xml
=> ...is geen geldige Win32-toepassing.
EDIT : redownload, NOW OK !! (the program works, no EPG yet, still busy)
13h45 : in TV-server : Enabled xmltv
13h55 : downloaded mc2xml, placed it in the xmltv-folder
13h59 : DOSprompt : mc2xml -c be -g 8670 -o tvguide.xml
showed a dialogscreen with country-code (be) and postalcode (8670) etc.
14h03 : job done, no EPG yet, search goes on... (mapping of channels perhaps,...)
Update 14h38 : IT WORKS !!!
There's a lot of info here, but difficult to define the steps.
Solution : on the mc2xml-website : follow the howto for MediaPortal !!
Would it be worth switching from TVXB to mc2xml. Would I still be able to capture EGP data for all those countries, in one single run, into one tvguide.xml file?
