For me the Intel driver 15.60.2.4901 from 12/28/2017 for onboard graphics (i5 Skylake w/ HD530) solved the problem.

Sorry, I wasn't around for a bit, but I've tested those two builds and both fix the black screen on resume for me.

Just to be awkward, I've got a new telly since the last logs I posted so I'm running over HDMI now rather than VGA. Still the same PC though, and the problem still happened the same as before.

Logs attached if it helps (one for V13, one for V14, but both worked for me)

Is it safe to replace my live MP with this build or should I wait for an official one?

If V14 works, that's nice because i have done the code differently than V13
I will be able to do a madVR build based on V14, that you should be able to use on your live MP (in EVR ofc and also with madVR if you want lol).

PS : did you try like @Freuli to start MP ?

1- With AVR OFF and turned ON and OFF and ON
2- With AVR ON and turned OFF and ON and OFF

And see if the screen always be back with MP GUI.

Sorry i dont undestrand how to use these patches... I have to extract zip files to random folder and start the mediaportal.exe in there? will it read my existing config, skin plugins etc.?

And what is AVR?

Yep, it will load skin and settings but not using your plugins and it will use default plugin but for testing it's ok (for ex i'm using default myvideo to play my video files for testing)
For this issue (blackscreen) the testing is quick to use
