    What should i tell you?
i have it the other way around.

3 PCs and all of them are working with milkrop, twistedpixel, Beatharness, G-Force, WmP vis and Sonique Vis.
even on my HTPC with integrated Graphics card i don#t have any troubles.

Well, obviously you are doing something different than most others then, because I've done some asking around and people all over the place have the same problems. Also, I've now tested MP on two of my parents' computers as well as on my girlfriend's laptop, for a total of eight PC's that I've personally experienced this issue with. I did another clean re-install of XP on my main box and the first thing I installed was MP and Milkdrop, and it still doesn't work. I'm using the version of Milkdrop provided by you in this thread, so I doubt that's the problem... But if you could re-post the Milkdrop dll you're using at the moment, that'd be great. Or anything else you can think of that you have on all 3 of your PC's which wouldn't be on a regular user's PC.

I've yet to try this with the official 0.2.3.0 release, who knows, it might work... I plan to install it on my HTPC soon and we'll see what happens then.

    Cheers!

Winamp 5.5 has the new Milkdrop v2 in.
You need to have the 1.05beta version for the latest vis that works with MP

I cant' believe i had the answer!!

    Thanks man, that worked. :)

Unfortunately, I've also discovered that I have the same issue dragonfly is having with the fullscreen visualization being the size of a thumbnail . It has something to do with the "enable status display in fullscreen mode" option because it only does it when it starts playing a new track if you have "show song info on track change" checked. With only "enable status display in fullscreen mode" checked it does it all the time when in fullscreen. I hope we can figure this out, I'm so close to being able to use mediaportal instead of winamp for music! :)

if it only happens with "enable status display in fullscreen mode" checked, simply disable it.
it won't work anyhow with ANY Winamp plugin.

The reason is that the Winamp plugin overlays my visualisation wiondow, where i do draw the information overlay.
But that shouldn't be a problem, since most of the Winamp Plugins, at least Milkdrop for example, show the song title on track change anyhow.

    Ah, I see.

Well I'd like to be able to see the song title and time display. Normally you can do this with F2 and F3. Is there a way I can toggle those. It looks like Media Portal has control of the keyboard so milkdrop doesn't get keyboard commands. Is there a way to map F2 and F3 to milkdrop, or better yet, have those displays on by default?

i'm trying to use beatharness with MP, i've installed it, but i can't select it in mp configuration (it's not shown in drop down list)... i've copied all files from beatharness directory to visualizations directory in mp...

    thanks in advance, regards

Sorry no way. have tried to hand-over the keys to the winamp plugin, but it doesn't work.
afaik, you can turn on the display of song change info in Milkdrop config.
