It would be amazing if you could upload the file!
Here you are

Hello again, thank you so much for uploading the file. i put the file into the folder and then restarted the service but when i try and access the tv guide i get a 'mediaportal has stopped responding' windows error and it crashes out. Am i placing it in the correct location? C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MP2-Client\Plugins\SlimTv.Client\Skin\BlueVision\themes\Win10\styles\

I am running the version of MP2 thats in the first post of the lastest weekly snapshot thread if that is of any use.

I am very grateful for the help youve given so far, i know you and other developers on here are very busy people and the wrk you put into MP is amazing :D

    Yes ,the location is correct.

I've no installation of MP2, but compile and run it directly from VisualStudio. I'm using already a new code base, which will come with next main release, but thought, that the TV plugin was untouched.
But it seems something was changed. One Dev added a new groupinng button, perhaps the inconsistance is related to that.

Do you still have your old SlimTVStyles.xaml or can revert the change? If you upload the original file, I'll modify it for you.
In worst case deleting it and using the repair option in MP2 installer might bring it back (settings will not be touched).

    :) :) :)

    That one works absolutely perfectly!

Thank you so so so much! :)
Great. I'm open for further feedback. If you're interested to test the new WMC skin (perhaps even a few days earlier than others ;)), you may tell me. I'm looking for a few public pre-tester to collect bug reports and also general feedbacks about usability etc.

I am definitely open to testing the WMC skin as it looks amazing - before windows 10 I used WMC for my HTPCs- and on MP1 I was using Avalon which was close in style to wmc, so I'd love to get that style back on MP2.

This is probably unrelated, and I may have to post elsewhere but in my Recordings screen it shows up lots of tv series from the folder that's linked to my TV series source as well as recorded tv even though they're entirely separate folders on my hard drive and in setting the recorded tv option is set only to my DVR folder, is there a way to stop this from happening?

Don't worry if you can't help on this one I appreciate that you've helped a lot already!

I personally don't record and can not help much I guess. @Lehmden might have a good answer, but would be better, if you open a new thread and tag him.

Good to know, I'll involve you in the right time :)

    Hi.
but in my Recordings screen it shows up lots of tv series from the folder that's linked to my TV series source as well as recorded tv
It is possible that, if you have moved the recordings including the metadata file (same name as the video file but with xml extension) to your series or movies share. MP2 tries to read any type of text, nfo and xml file next to a video file to help identifying it. This gives an perfect match if those files are correct. MP2 recordings are normal videos in the .ts container but have such xml files next to them, containing the channel, the date and time the recording was done and much more information. The existence of such xml files with "recording content" is a signal for MP2 telling "this video is a recording". If those xml files do not exist or contain other data, the video simply is a video. Another possibility is, if you have "old" WMC recordings in wtv or dvr-ms container. As those two container only are used for WMC recordings they are also identified as recordings, no matter if they are in the recordings source or somewhere else. So the recordings are recognized as recordings not only in the recordings folder but in every video source. To get rid of them you only need to delete those xml files in your series source, only keeping them in the "real" recordings folder. For old WMC recordings it is a tiny bit more work. Then you need to get rid of the wtv (or dvr-ms) container. This can be done by simply remuxing them to e.g. Matroska (.mkv) This is easy and fast. It only takes a few seconds to remux a video from wtv to mkv and you can use various tools to do so. A very comfortable tool to do such is MKV-Buddy (link in my signature).... When you are finished with this operations you can trigger a reimport of your sources to see the result instantly or you can wait for the nightly automatic reimport.

You also can have this the other way round, if you like. If you have set up custom file path and name in TV configuration that includes separate folder for one time recordings and recurring recordings (e.g. "My Recordings\Series\XXXXXX" and "My Recordings\Movies\XXXXXX") then all recurring series are imported in "recordings" and in "series" and all one time only recordings are imported into "recordings" and "movies". If you don't have such separate folders all recordings are only imported as recordings so a user easily can decide if he wants this behavior or not.

Thank you for the information. The files are indeed WMC recordings that are being picked up in the recorded tv section.

Unfortunately re-muxing isnt an easy option as there are many hundred recorded files and mostly in HD, it seems it would take a while to do! It's a shame there isnt an easy way to switch this behaviour off!

MP2 is lovely software but I'm finding there's lots of strange quirks compared to MP1, it's taking some getting used to!

ge2301 could you tell me which file i may have broken when fiddling with your skin; In the TV Guide if i click a program and select the extended schedule option nothing happens. I've swithed the file back to original but it doesnt work still, so i dont think its related to the tv guide changes you made for me and probably something I've done to stop it working :( if i change skins or theme the extended scheduling works fine- so i think it's something i've broken while trying to be clever and change the skin! :(
