So far being a Vista Ultimate user, cannot see any benefits, in fact exactly the opposite, transfers seem slower etc, yes I am a power user and I do use a full admin account which does help.

After 24 hours use, have scrapped, because I just cannot see any Multimedia benefits (or others).

Same as vista, click start, type GPEdit.msc into search bar, In group policy editor go to admin templates\windows components\windows media centre and enable it. Then go to services and disable the 4 media centre services. Hope this helps

Got this from Ray PD long time ago. works to this day
and works wonder in win 7

For the average person, just disable in services everything that has windows media centre in the name.

    or if on ultimate\business editions

    1. Open MMC - Win7 called Local Group Policy Editor, Hit start search for Group :)
    2. Load the group policy object editor
    3. Open the Local computer policy
    4. User config
    5. Admin templates
    6. Windows components
    7. Windows Media Center
    8. Do not allow Media center to run : Enable

    Hi,

me again. After disabling the media center I can use my remote control only in a restricted way. The cursor-keys and enter
work, but I can't go back (on keyboard ESC) for example.
    Any suggestions?

    Thank you,
    Kaloschke

In Windows 7 there are some changes on DVB network provider side. Some users have reported that this will cause the TVE3 to function incorrectly. At least multitune (more than one channel from same mux with only one DVB card) feature stops working.
