At the moment I use girder, it works okay but it is not the perfect solution.

Hi, I'm newby, I have the same problem of usbrit. When I try to close the configuration program exit the problem. It's like the Keymap.xml file is locked from the configuration program and the winLIRC setting can't write on it. If the author can explain how the setting operate on the xml file I try to make the same operation on hand. Thanks

WinLirc for MP not working

I installed MP 0.1.0.3 and latest WinLirc Plugin. problem is my MP won't respond to remote control.

I know my winLirc server is working because it works with BS Player. Also when i have MP running i can control other software like notepad and WinDVD via Remote Control, but it wont work with MP.

Someone please help to make it work with MP!!!

To stupid for Winlirc

Hi,

I have installed MP.... before I used myHTPC.... now I want to use my RemoteControl,.. it works fine with the original Winlirc.exe and it worked fine with myHTPC.
Now I have MP (latest version) and downloaded the Plugin, saved the file in the process folder, but I have never seen this dialogs windows shown here and in the documentation. Am I to stupid for that - I hope no.

I have the same problem that all of you have...

"File is being used" when config tries to write remote comands into keymap.xml

Is there any work around for that?
Girder is ok but i dont want to use 2 diferent progs for remote.

Judging by the lack of response from the author of this WinLirc plugin I would say that he's either on extended vacation, ill, or stopped supporting the plugin. A bit sad because WinLIRC is great, but its no major issue as Girder seems to be an alternative choice some have suggested.

So, if anybody else would like to develop a new WinLIRC plugin please, you'll have some loyal supporters... fame and glory will bestowed upon you. :mrgreen:

Hi everyone,

sadly this plugin seems to be stuck at the current development stage. I hope someone else can pick up the development (unfortunately I am not a programmer, so I can not help).

Maybe the Winlirc plugin that is used for sending codes to other devices which is already integrated in MP can be extended by using some of the source code "jadz" wrote. This would probably also solve some problems with the current version like the mandatory focus MP has to have in order for the plugin to work...

Maybe there is still hope....
