Just for info: I have 2x 500GB Samsung Spinpoints, a clean Vista Ultimate installation for 4 days now, no recordings yet, no other programs installed other than MP and her preferred 'helpers' (ffdshow, haalimediasplitter, deamontools, winrar, purevideo, RealAlternative, MPC)...

A big old warning here. It sucks. Playing back xvid files with advanced features (qpel. gmc etc) causes major artifacting and crashes. To get rid of this nuisance while keeping the pristine dvd codecs, simple open a command prompt window and do the following.
