    Unfortunately we are blessed with 1080i HDTV. For what its worth, I can get 50fps If I run MP in a little window on my new big screen. :)

    The funny thing though, is that Powercinema & GB-PVR seem to be able to run 1920,x1080 1080i without issue, using the same h264 codec. And the nifty effects? Where would they be when I'm watching live-tv? Milling around in the background of every frame?

    If you look back through this thread, you'll find that there was at one point a fairly heated discussion between some of the MP devs and several users (including myself) about the rendering changes introduced in MP 1.0.1

    Basically it was changed for good reasons and it's not going to be changed back in MP 1.x, so you'll have to live with it, use a pre-1.0.1 version of MP, upgrade the video card or move to other software (or build your own version of MP - it's open-source free software after all :))

    I recently setup my brothers HTPC; Kuma Core CPU (HT3) + HD3200 + 2GB RAM -> Can run 1080i HDTV fine using Windows 7 MCE + PDVD8 H264 CODEC.

    I have already read some of those sentiments. It is a shame because being able to use integrated graphics for an htpc seems to make a lot of sense. It is also a shame because it would seem that the hardware IS actually capable, just not with the way MP 1.0.1 does things now.

    So, live with a crippled product, or spend time & money. Or... squeak, hoping for some oil. Even developers can change their minds right guys?

    or use W7 MCE, it's actually really good when you add mediabrowser and media centre master too it (reminds me of mediaportal / my tv series / moving pictures)

    FYI: 1080i material deinterlaces perfectly with mp 1.1.0b using the exact same hardware and codecs under win7. ati4550, pdvd9, cat 9.10.

    I still feel this is a bug in 1.0.1/2.

    it does perfectly well before 1.0.1 without ati45xx and or athlon II X2 wit HT 3. or higher. since 1.0.1. you need either a more capable gfx or a HT3 capable CPU.

    so , no wonder that your rig is deinterlacing 1080i with that harware ure using.

    thing is that devs changed some things with DX and since then you need better hardware for 1080i.

    that's why this is such a long post, coz there's no obviuos reason why to change it, when you can have the same thing with lower power consumption.... :mad:
