I think it is too far. I am not even sure 1.0 and 1.0.1 are compatible. :)

Also I have tried the test material, but it contains som bad data, so I can't judge by that.

Got a Pop-up box stating: UNABLE TO PLAY with additional detail about the source (.ts buffer or filename) and the Video and/or Audio codec selected.

I did this by renaming tsreader.ax (05/05/09) on my MP 1.0.2 system, installing MP 1.0 onto another system then copying its tsreader.ax (11/23/08) into the C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal folder on my MP 1.0.2 system. Upon starting MP 1.0.2, My-TV, TV Guide and selecting a program to view I got the pop-up box. Same if I selected a Recorded-TV file to view, or via My Videos... the Pop-up box appeared each time I tried to view .ts material. I also got the same pop-up window when I had renamed each of the these files leaving NO tsreader.ax file in the folder!

If you'd like to check something else, or see my logs I'd be glad to help!

I've been using MP 0.2.3.0 and MP 1.0.0.0 on my system to view 1080i without issue for years. It's hard to understand why MP 1.0.2 has changed when my old system with MP 0.2.3.0 can easily playback 1080i material via .ts files created under MP 1.0.2 (streamed over a mapped drive) and all it has an old ATi AIW 9600xt video card / Athlon 3100 single core!

Could someone with the problem please try 1.0.2 with the tsreader from 1.0.0 and see if the problem is there. I.e is the problem within MP app or TS reader.

    Thanks

    Mr Hipp

Sure, i can give that a go today. I'll also do it on a fresh install of XP SP3/MP1.0.2 to eliminate other problems.
Can you please give me brief instructions on how to jack up the older tsreader.

    Thanks

    Mike

    @Mr Hipp / Tourettes

I have a theory regarding the 1080i live TV problem.

(#1) When running MP 1.0 Final with fullscreen DVB-T H264 1080i if i press shift+! i get good fps, smooth video etc.

(#2) When i turn off fullscreen in MP1.0 Final, ie i have overlayed MP information eg. TV Guide, or navigate the my tv screen then the fps rate drops to around 25-30 with a video appearance similar to the problems we have with MP 1.0.1/1.0.2

There are several new features in 1.0.1/1.0.2 ie. introduction of dxva subtitles / evr flicker fixes. I'm wondering if these changes mean that when viewing live tv in fullscreen mode, it is not displaying the video like in MP1.0 example (#1), but it is now displaying the video as in MP 1.0 example (#2)

I think it is too far. I am not even sure 1.0 and 1.0.1 are compatible. :)

Also I have tried the test material, but it contains som bad data, so I can't judge by that.

is this the .ts recording from 3 news that i posted.

I wonder if live TV is expected to have the odd error due to the way it is broadcasted? I wonder if MP 1.0.1/1.0.2 is less tollerant of any errors, and that's why it doesn't play 1080i as well. However the other progressive DVB-T channels are unaffected, so maybe i'm wrong.

 Compatible with what? I am using MP1.0.1 with the stated issues.

I only meant that it may not be possible to take tsreader 1.0.0 and plug it into MP 1.0.1. Other changes may have made it impossible. Nothing to wory about :)

Mr. Hipp -- Is there something to UNregistering and then registering the tsreader.ax filter for it to work? Read my earlier post where I simply substituted the older 1.0.0.0 where the 1.0.2 had been... oddly enough I got the same pop-up when no file of the name tsreader.ax was in the folder.

    Cheers for the clarification. :D

One other item I have been experiencing with 1.0.1. With some TV records I am unable to delete: I get an error box stating this. At later stage, I am then able to delete. Will debug logs show this activity?

Further to Kiwijunglist's comments above, I notice with MP1.01 if I watch 1080 HDTV in a window rather than full screen the FPS increases. If I shrink the window down to the smallest size MP will allow I get a nice smooth picture and 50FPS.
Not sure if this is a relevant observation but thought it might help someone that knows more than I to diagnose the problem.

No you only need to replace the file. No need to unregister / register.
