Although in 2023 I think x64 should be the standard. :)
    I don't agree with this. :(

Although I now use 64-bit Windows 7, I changed from 32-bit Windows 7 only a couple of years ago. Prior to that my Dell HTPC had only 3GB of RAM, so not suitable for 64-bit Windows. However, MP ran quite happily with only 3GB on 32-bit Windows.

I now have 7GB of RAM with 64-bit Windows, and to be honest I have not noticed any difference compared to 3GB of RAM with 32-bit Windows.

I recognise that maintaining the codebase so that it can be used to generate both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of MP will be more complicated, but I think that we should continue to support 32-bit for the foreseeable future.

I disagree, Windows 10 and 11 run noticeably faster and more stable on older laptops with 2-3GB of memory than Windows 7.
Especially since Windows 7 is no longer supported, and not everything works in it anymore.

I have older laptops on Atom - Acer Aspire One a150 (1.5Gb) , computers on Core 2 Duo (4Gb) and more modern ones on i3, i5, i7 (4Gb - 8Gb -16Gb) and all have x64 Windows 10 or 11 running faster and more stable.

Until the x64 version is fully operational, we will support 2 versions in parallel, time will tell.

Any chance of getting MP Extensions Manager for x64 working so we can test plugins, or can we just drop them in from the respective folders in the x86 MP install?
