Looking for a replacement for my terratec 2400i card... Love it, but it's a bit too sensitive Re: signal strength...
Must be DVB-T - dual tuner if possible... PCI, PCI-E x1 or USB...

Any recommendations???

    Hi,

I've had good results with a Hauppauge Nova-t 500. This is a dual PCI tuner, which is effectively two USB tuners on one card with a PCI-USB bridge. Some people have reported problems with this setup, mainly with resuming from hibernate (IIRC) but I leave my server on 24/7 so this is not a problem.

This card is also not compatible (yet) with XP SP3, but works perfectly for me with SP2.

    Good luck.

Thx guys - any idea how it handles weak reception???

    Hi,

I am also pretty close to a transmitter, but I have had other cards (blackgold) which had poor reception, and the nova-t 500 is fine, so I would be inclined to say that it will handle weak reception pretty well.

It certainly does. I currently have a Nova-T-500 twin tuner in an HTPC and a 22-in tv with built-in Freeview decoder running from the same signal booster. I live in an area that is not supposed to receive Freeview but I get more channels in better quality on the Nova-T than the tv.

    Regards,
    Duggy.

P.S. I am also running XP Pro SP3 with no problems.

Actually I solved this myself. I did have the correct driver (it was the only one which would work). But on the drivers download page, there was an additional item called "TBS6281se V2 Change Mode Tool". There was zero documentation to accompany this. I downloaded it and ran it. It is a tool to detect the current run state of both...

Perhaps... Only way to confirm would be for me to invest in a different USB DVB-S2 tuner (like the Hauppauge WinTV-NOVA-S2), which I might do if the issue persists.

It took a while but loading the three updates and waiting, (I wandered off doing other things), while the Win 7 searched for updates eventually brought about 170 available updates.
