Does this also apply when using an analogue card?
Back then when I prepared my system, I had seen this but never installed it because I didn't think I needed it...
    General requirement since ages.

Yes Chris, I know - that's why I wrote that I had seen it more then once - but does a hauppauge PVR350 fall under the category of ATSC/DVB cards?
Again, no matter what card you use, you must install the hotfix. ;)

Re: AW: after update "TV Setup" crash ! - TvService.exe not upgraded to RC3

After update from RC2 to RC3 i cant open "Setup TV". (a message appears: setuptv.exe doesnt work, you want send information to microsoft?) something like this.

Got the same error. I've tried to update from the disaster123 RC2 edition, but it failed.

    My solution:

    - uninstall MePo (Option: Standard)
    - install MePo (Option: New)

All databases and settings were taken correctly. So I haven't to configure anything new. Now the TV-Server (and the updated clients) work fine for me. So again thanks for your good and hard work.
Thats not a solution - its a workaround.

We need to find the cause of the issue. Why is the TvService.exe locked for some users?

Ok, you're right. It's a workaround and not a solution. Although it works fine for me. So what can I do to help you ? Cause I'm at work at the moment I can't post logs, but if you want I can post them this evening.

    @ALL users with this issue:

Please run the following command from a Command prompt ( cmd.exe ):

    "dir /s c:\program files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\*.* > %TEMP%\tvserver-list.txt"

and attach here the file "%TEMP%\tvserver-list.txt". If you are running a x64 system the first part of the path is "C:\PRogram Files(x86)\...."

    :D

AW: after update "TV Setup" crash ! - TvService.exe not upgraded to RC3

I had the same problem with the update from RC2 to RC3.
Just before the update i made a backup and so i was able to return to my RC2 installation.
The second time i have stopped the TVService manually before installation and then it worked flawlessly.

I can remember that there was an error during the first installation process but don't ask me what.:sorry:

The uninstaller of TvServer does stop the service.

If for some reason the service "crashes" instead of nicely stop, then the tvservice.exe will be locked by windows error reporting.
If that is what happened on your system, then your windows eventlog/system should have an entry about a crash.
I can remember that there was an error during the first installation process but don't ask me what.:sorry:
Did it say that it could not remove/replace files?
Because this "should" be showed to the user (unless the /silent switch hides it)

We still look for a common factor those users who have reported the issue share.
    Webserver?
    MDAPI?
    ... ?

We need everyone who has this problem to list in detail what they use(d) and what they had/have installed serverside.

Nope, works like a charm now like I already wrote. ;)

Maybe one minor thing that I've noticed: when I did a manual (forced) import in XmlTv the window get 'scrambled' as if it crashes - which I did not see before in the previous versions - but the taskmanager does not show abnormal high cpu usage/not responding app. and after some time, probably when the import is finished, the image refreshes.

We need everyone who has this problem to list in detail what they use(d) and what they had/have installed serverside.

Do you need more information from me?
