How do I access the MP from another PC/Mac on the LAN if installed on a central PC (Windows 7)?

PC wise you install it on that PC too. videos / music etc are all configured locally but for TV there is one server that all clients connect to.
There is no mac support (MP needs .NET).
There are a couple of things around this (DNLA, web-streaming etc) but the above is the out the box situation

I am running a Xubuntu machine as a server with all my movies and series on it, I run a VirtualBox VM with Windows 10 installed on the virtual machine and MP1 client installed on that.
MP runs fine on the VM but I no longer have a tv tuner to test if passthrough is possible. I don't think it would work anyway.

I'm using Media Portal One in New Zealand and have been using EPG collector for many years, but it died on me today.
Did you find solution to your problem as I will probably need to change media portal to try and import a TV guide from off the web somehow
