tested on gnex ics 402 and 403, all gpod so far

my tab 10.1 on hc 3.2 also likes the alpha 4.

sometimes video shares dissapear when switching from live tv as note.

0.8 also worked flawless, but the new version is a real improvement in design ;-)

So far looking good. I have connection/lag issues, but I think this relates to the comments about running ICS. (Nexus S)

I found it interesting that sending a WoL packet worked. BUT.... It took a long time. I pressed the WoL in ampdroid, looked at screen for about 10 or 15 seconds. No life. No kick of fans. Sat down at my main PC (This one), about 4 or 5 minutes later, I heard it kick to life. No other buttons had been pressed, and I only pressed WoL once. I'm guessing it got bogged down somewhere in happy ICS land.

Otherwise, can connect when MP is running, but everything is either extremely laggy, or not at all responding.

I think I'll just wait for the next release of ampdroid before doing any serious fault-finding/logging, as it sounds like you are well on top of it. So.. Words of encouragement +100 to you. Thanks.

TV streaming works great However, if I try to stream my tv and movie shares I get Error:-38, 0.
Device Samsung Galaxy S2. ampdroid 0.8 worked perfect for everything.

Edit: Fixed it by adding my network user and password to the MPExtended Service Logon tab in Services.

Same here with Motorola Defy. But my username and password for the network are working but the streaming desnt work.
The only one that works are the TV Recordings and the Music.

I fix: I must give the "service" a username and password.

I just installed this yesterday and played with it last night, I love this I have an HP Touchpad with Android CM7 XRON-ified mod on it. It works beautifully on it, only a couple of issues I'm having.

1- In my TV-Series, there are random shows showing up in duplicate. I can post a screenshot of if when I get home if needed. I looked through my TV-Series Database and there aren't any duplicates in the database.

2- Streaming works great with the internal player and the external player that is built in. However, I have noticed that any movie over 6gb (better part of my collection is in .mkv a lot are over 7gb), the video will start to play but no audio. I tried lowering the quality of the FFDShow that didn't appear to help. Just wondering if anyone else had noticed that issue?

Overall top notch interface on the tablet! Keep up the good work!!

I am also having problems trying to stream to my Galaxy 10.1, after reading all the issues here, I have updated to Ampdroid 1.0 APK4, and installed MOBOplayer onto the Tablet, it connects OK, then I select my TV recordings (not Live TV, as I am aware that this is still an issue) then it launch which Player I want to use, so I select MOBOplayer, then it starts, but plays for just 1 sec and it stops! I have opened up the firewall for allowing port 4322, and this does show up that it is not blocking and is allowing it to pass thru. So I'm stuck here, I have enclosed the log for further investigation. Any help would be great!

Looking forward to use this onto the tablet!! So keep up the good work!

Everything seems to be working except when I attempt "Play on PC" from my tablet the application crashes instantly. The ampdroid 1.0 preview and alpha4 release you posted in another post both exhibit this behavior. This is on an Asus EeePad Transformer.

Attached is the Android log from the tablet. In it I attempted to play both a TV show from MyTVSeries and a movie from MovingPictures with the "Play on PC" function, both resulting in a crash.

first, many thanks for all the hard work of developers .
It is "just" a preview and I already love this app!

after having some issues with the "old" version 0.8.3 I've changed to 1.0.

I've tested with my HTC HD2
[Android 2.3.7
MediaPortal 1.2.2.0
Windows7 Ult.]:

Configuration was easy for me compared to the config with the old services.
I think "MpExtended Service" is a great GUI for it.
Establish the connection was done in just few minutes - the great thing for me: I use this app with a dyndns-account to connect to my home server so I have now access to all my videos everywhere without taking my HDD from A to B .
Also I can look my TV channels on every place where I've a WLAN or UMTS (not tested with edge)

"Issues" I have found: If I choice a folder from my shared videos, "Avatar" for example, which has just one file inside, yet it shows other folders of the "root" in the folder "Avatar". The Video file is at the end of the list.
Also, the remote function don't work for me at present. Do I need a new version of "WifiRemote"?
If not, I have to check my settings again!

Testes with Tablet Viewpad 10s (Android 3.2), too.
Here, the same Issues as before, otherwise the app works great to. Streaming works fine for me.

Just for fun, I've tested too with my Netbook (running Android x86 3.2) . App works fine teher, too.
The only problem for me, I don't get the "pop-up" [streaming] if I click on a channel, to start the stream.
But that’s definitely not an issue of this app.


Has the Developers maybe planed a "plugin" to use this great streaming function inside of MediaPortal themself?
I don't know if this possible (sry I'm not a Dev.)
It would be nice if I could connect the MP-Client of my girlfriend on the same way (like the App) with my home server to watch /stream my videos there. At present she use MP just for looking TV.

Hi Mate

There is an updated dll for the remote. Have a look back through this forum and it should fix your issue with the remote at least
