I'm new to Android and this is a great tool:)

Everithing seams to work fine except the streaming of media from the NAS.
But I guess this is depending on the MpExtended Service (if someone has an hint, pl let me know).

Thanks for this App:)

Update: With the hint from dyamant (the pics) also the streaming from the NAS is working:)

This new version looks great! I've been using version 0.8 for a while now on my phone and it always worked perfectly.

Now I've got a new tablet and the streaming didn't work too good. The videofile loaded, but the "buffering icon" kept spinning and I had to press "pause" to start the video. I couldn't seek in the video either.

So I tried this new version and although it looks great, streaming still isn't working 100%

The internal player doesn't stream at all. I get the buffering icon spinning again, but htis time pressing "pause" doesn't do anything.

When I select "external player" I can watch a video but I still cannot seek within a video.

Can I try something to fix this?

Thanks for your great app!

Maybe your problem is the same like me.

i must change from the service "MPExtendedService" the User Account from local Systemuser to a real Windows User.

See the Pictures.

Will it work outside your own homenetwork?

Hi torbjorns

like wrote in my post before, I use the app with a DynDNS-Account (because I have no static IP).
So I can use my "Host-adress" to connect from everywhere to my MP-Server.
Therefore you have to config a portforwarding to your server.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've tried it now, but unfortunately it doesn't work I've copied a piece of the streaming log. Hope this is useful?

It keeps buffering and nothing happens. If I check the Mpextended config under Active streams, I see the video file starting to play for about 3 seconds, then it restarts. It keeps repeating this behavior.

I've tried several different external videoplayers on the tablet but none can seek within a video. So you would say the problem lays on the serverside... BUT, Ampdroid 0.8 still works 100% on my phone.

Could it be that I had to delete something from the old version on my PC? The only thing I did was updating wifiremote.

You have the network shared folder mapped to a drive letter, that will never work since even after you set the service to run as a real windows user, it will never load your profile, so it will not know that you have mapped drives. You must use UNC path's in MediaPortal to setup these shared folders in order to get it working with aMPdroid and mpextended.

Doesn't work either unfortunately.

I just installed ampdroid 1.0 on my android phone as well instead of version 0.8. And it works like a charm. So it has something to do with the tablet. What could it be?

I'll post two logs. One of the file I played with my phone, the other one of the file I played on the tablet.

Log of a file played on my phone (works good)

I really feel like it's just a tiny setting or something because everything seems to be right. I get the first frame of a videofile but it just won't play. Playing with an external player works but I can't seek. This is normal, but I can't seek either when I stop the file, which should work.

Is there any way to sort series by watcheD status? I have lost of series but have watched most of them, but they alll show up which is a bit annoying and one can get lost in there. ...

HID support

Hi, is there any chance that you may add HID support in future releases of ampdroid v1.0?

Let me explain: I wish to be able to stream my MP content to my tablet (which can be easily done through Ampdroid) and then be able to control said tablet from distance (through the use of my Bluetooth HID device)... most of any app in android can easily process hid commands (the capability is inbuilt in android's sdk), but in ampdroid the overlay gets in the way of using a hid device with the app... I think (and hope) that that is easily fixable, it would be an addition I would very much welcome in a future release...

Thank you very much for your precious work.
