What do you mean with "quick stream on device"... I can't find anything similar... Just the traditional "Stream" button with all the options...

I am/was refering to the available default actions when tapping on a media (movies/series/TV stream). The 7 available actions are as follows: streamondevice, streamondevicequick (the one I'm referring to), playonpc, addtoplaylist, playondevice, download and details...

"Quick streaming" refers to streaming the selected media using the pre-set configuration (what quality, which player). To someone with thousands of media or streaming TV it's an unbelievable time saver. If it's indeed broken I'd have to revert to ampdroid 1 which is rather a shame since I much prefer the interface of "1.1"

That's because you've tapped the movie in question, in contrast you should had done a "long click" (keep the finger pressed for a second or two) on the movie and a new ui element (on the top of the screen) would appear. The last of which would be a 3-dotted (options) button from which you can enable what you wish to "set as default". If you choose "streamondevicequick" you'd see that the stream would fail, if in contrast try to stream using the method you're using above -of course- the movie would play, which is why I find it doubly as curious.

This feature was my favorite since it allowed me to avoid the screen above (just by tapping any movie would play) which is a great time saver for someone -say- on a tablet who watches a lot of movies, but mostly streams live TV (imagine every time that you'd have to change a channel to have to go through 3 different menus, the quick stream feature kind of aleviates that). It's a bit of a shame to see this feature (in practice) removed :( (unless of course if it is a fixable issue).

This will be completely removed in the next version since it caused issues and there is no way to properly implement it in a consistent way with the current ui. That said I want to completely remove the "streaming details" screen and only show a "play or resume" dialog in the future (if there is a resume point).

Thanks for the quick reply, if indeed a quick play/resume is to be implemented instead of "streaming details" -I think- it would be much more intuitive and -instead- having the "streaming details" only to be set once (when you set ampdroid for the first time) across all your media...

Also I have to ask whether HID actions (hardware buttons) support is to be implemented to the player in the future. For example whenever I press pause using my BT remote "MXvideo" players pauses my media. Having equivalent buttons added to our player, as well as "playing next/previous", "volume up/down", "stop" with a press of a (hardware) button would be great. That way ampdroid would start resembling mediaportal proper (having most of its features, such as live tv, tv shows, movies, all controllable by remote, etc).

Lastly, I've tried reverting to the older ampdroid (v1.0.1) but seems unable to stream my content, should I also have to use an older version of MPExtended (>0.5) ? If so, I hope I can still find it (say version 0.4) uploaded somewhere.

Thanks for your hard work, it's much appreciated :)

    Thanks both.

@Steven81, I found what you say under that 3-dot menu. I never pressed "by default" option. :)

@DieBagger, I would agree that it would be more clear just a "play/resume" action/button, and all "streaming" options in an separated menu... BUT, in that case, there should be some kind of "profiles" to be configured/setted in an easy way... I need different streaming options using 3G/4G or local wifi connected, o watching TV or progressive content, and user should be able to change streaming profiles easily...

    bye!

You can switch profiles/languages/subtitles directly in the player nowadays, which makes the streaming details page a bit redundant... But like I said, this will be one of the things that get an overhaul next version.

DieBagger your new Version 1.1.2 is very nice, but now where can I find the stop Button. At present, I find no way to stop a movie or something similar ....
