Hi, any solution on internal player and seeking on Samsung Galaxy line?
Since it's quite popular line of Android products, it would had been really worthwhile if the bugs that amdroid suffers while in those phones were to be resolved.

U got a tab 10.1?
Mine crashes 8/10 times. Really sad cause its a great app and all I want is to watch live tv from the tab -:(

Lasse

I rather meanth the UNKNOWN MEDIA ERROR that Galaxy S (the phone) encounters whilst the internal players attempts to stream. Also the fact that (to my experience) no seeking is available to any of the external players I tried, making ampdroid unusable in those phones...

I'm not sure if the same or something similar exists to the Tablet series of Samsung, because if it does that would be a shame; it would mean that Samsung are not supported at all by many of the the ampdroid's functions...

    Hi guys,

I know of all the problems with the Galaxy line of products. I've spent a lot of time trying to get it work, but I can't get audio to work. If I disable audio in the transcoder profile, everything works perfect, but as soon as I enable audio the whole player doesn't work anymore. If I look at the logs I get a segfault deep inside Android, which indicates that this is a bug in Android rather then our fault, but that doesn't solve the problem. The problem is that neither I nor DieBagger have an Galaxy phone or tablet, which makes it a lot harder to test.

Another problem is that Android only supports live streaming natively since Android 2.3. Since live streaming doesn't support seeking, we've invented a proprietary protocol for that, which of course doesn't work with external players.

I've also added VLC support to the streaming server to the next release and I've some hope that it'll solve the streaming problems with the Galaxy. Again, because of the lack of available hardware I can't test it and it might even be worse then the current situation. Testing is somehow complicated but if someone dares he can send me a PM.

For anyone who gets crashes of aMPdroid: please report them, either by the report button in the force-close dialog or by posting a logcat here. We can't fix them if we don't know the cause.

I'm struggling getting the initial connection.

I have two pc's in the house running mediaportal 1.1.3 on win7 x64 ultimate
I have set them both up with the latest GMAwebservice, wifiremote and TV4Home Core.
I have verified the services are running and responding to the prompts e.g http://media-pc:4321/GmaWebService/MediaAccessService/json/Getservicedescription
I can connect to both of them using the wifiremote demo client and operate mediaportal

    BUT

With every confirguration I can thing of all I get from ampdroid 0.8 is "remote connection could not be established"

I am running android version 2.3.4 on HTC HD2 (rom is Hyperdroid-CM7-v2.1.0-HeadyHoneyBadger). I have also tried with a nexus rom and get the same error.

Any ideas or more info required?

    @inspector-71

Take a look at this wiki page:
    Troubleshooting - MediaPortal Wiki
To find your problem/to give us some more information.

I have had a good look at that but there doesn't seem to be anything specific to the problem which seems to be the initial contact between ampdroid and wifiremote. I can access the services remotely via web browser and can connect using the wifiremote demo client so as far as I can see everything is as it should be on the pc side
