I also am getting the dreaded "no connection to service" error. It's might confusing, i've read all the wikis but i still can't seem to figure it out...i must be having a bad day.

I get this message only for music and movies, the TV part actually works fine (and as i believe they are on the same port then this proves any network issues are ok? both phone and mediaportal are on the same subnet). I've clicked all the links from another pc on the same subnet too (and changed localhost to the ip of mediaportal of course) and all the links work fine.

I'm completely stumped! Are there any logs i can look at? Cheers !

No ideas? :( I think i'm having the same problem as inspector-71.

Hi,

JUst wondering if anyone has had problems installing aMPdroid from the market. When I try to install, it tells me that my device is not compatible. I'm using a HTC HD2 with Android 2.3.3. Anyone know if there are any pre-requisite apps, or any other reasons that it may not be available for some phones? I can provide some more information if required, but I thought there may be some general requirements that my phone may or may not meet.

Cheers,
David

Re: AW: [Android] aMPdroid 0.8 - Streaming and more

Sorry to quote myself but can someone please tell me if the above problem specific to my system or whether it's normal and if it's normal will there be a fix at some point?

I appreciate all the work that's being done on (and around) this project and fully understand that things need to be prioritised. All I'm asking for is to know if this can/ will work a some point so I know whether or not to move on.

Thanks in advance guys and all the best,

    Mick.

I'm not sure actually as I'm not using ISOs at all. Can you post your MediaPortal logs? If the screen turns black it seems that ampdroid did send the play command correctly so it's most likely something WifiRemote has to fix.

    Hi DieBagger,

Yes. It does appear that "something" is being sent. I'll re-install later today and post the log.

Is "mediaportal.log" enough? Also, do you want it here or in the Wifiremote thread?

    Thanks for the answer.

    All the best,

    Mick.

    Hi DieBagger,

Finally got round to installing the latest version of aMPdroid yesterday along with the latest GMA, Wi-Fi Remote and TV for home services. Sorry it took me so long  Been busy with other things (no excuse really).

Anyhow, I'm really glad I spent the time yesterday. It's working really well except for a couple of minor things :) one of which is still the inability to start playback of ISO's or DVD folders on the PC. Last time we spoke about this you requested a log so I've attached one for you now. If contains attempts to play a DVD folder (Matrix Reloaded) and an ISO (Casino Royale).

I can see references to "Matrix Reloaded" (folder) including an error but no reference to "Casino Royale" (ISO) at all. Both playback attempts resulted in a black screen as before but during my testing I've also seen MP force close as a result.

I appreciate you're a busy man but if you get the time to look at this at some point that'd be great.

    Thanks and all the best,

    Mick.

DieBagger has not much time lately so no wonder he isn't wirting much...

Regarding a next release you should be patient... i wouldn't expect more than a small update which fixes some issues of the app itself.
The next bigger update dependes on the upcoming (really big) webservice update which will need it's time.

Tja, maar na de bouwvak begint het onderwijs weer ;)

Anyway, for everbody: both DieBagger and I have been quite limited on time lately. I've been doing some streaming work and while that has some nice features (using VLC instead of ffmpeg so that DVDs and ISOs also work for example), it's still quite unstable, needs some work on aMPdroid and is also mainly done with CouchPotato and WebMediaPortal in mind. Besides that, I really want to solve the Samsung issues but as I haven't even been able to send instructions to people who offered to test. For the other issues we've been redesignig the media access api, which also took a lot of our time and resulted in a more or less broken GMA at the moment, but which is making good progress now.

Summarizing, there's some progress but it's moving slowly now. With the current time commitments I think we should be happy if we're able to push out a new release at the end of October. I hope we can free some more time and release earlier, but

I have a singleseat installation and I installed aMPDroid a few days ago. I get access to my htpc via WLAN. That's working now. But I do not get access to my htpc via WAN. Can someone tell me the configuration in aMPDroid for WAN:
e.g. my domain is "myhtpc.homeip.net" at dyndns what do I have to write down in the section "Hostname or IP Adress".
In field MAC adress I write down my MAC adress. Right?
    The port is 4321. Right?

What port do I have to forward in my router and what protocol do I have to use? AT the moment I forward port 4321 and protocol ist TCP. Is this right?

You see need a little help.
