Just a quick usage question. I love to use the alphabetic scrolling within music and video section. However, I have no clue how to make it to show up. Up to now it appears only "by accident".

Any tips?

Thanks
Christian

When you've put your media on a NAS you've to change the user the service runs as. By default it runs as a local system user, which isn't allowed to access network shares. You should change the user GMA runs as to a user that has access to the network drive (in Windows' Services screen).
    Yup, that worked. Thanks!

    Hey guys,

I always had some trouble with watching tv, recordings or some other video files on my phone. Since I have vPlayer I can play all files or streams. But for me it's still not possible to seek in a video.

It seems that vPlayer (or any other player) doesn't get the duration of the file. It goes from "00:00:00 to -596523:-14:-8"
When I try to seek, DDMS throws " ERROR/VPlayer(20269): avformat_seek_file: Operation not permitted : -1".

    Any hints on this?
I use a LG Optimus Speed with CyanogenMod7 (anybody else use this combination sucessfully?)

Interesting to look at is the ddms log in which vPlayer states "Duration N/A".
In the ddms log I tried to play an .avi file, GMAWebservice.log is from the test with a .mkv file. Results were the same.

(Something different to the end: is it normal that I still have 4 ffmpeg.exe processes after closing ampdroid?)

    Thanks in advance :)

Seeking only works with the internal player; doesn't work with vPlayer.

The ffmpeg.exe processes should be killed but that doesn't always work.

Hm to bad, but thanks for your answer.
The internal player can't deal with my video files (ERROR_MEDIA_UNKNOWN,0) although CyanogenMod is based on Android 2.3.7.

I guess I have to wait for MPExtended, maybe this and a ney Cyanogen version can solve my problems.

You can seek btw, just not in the external player... You need to go back to the internal player, then seek to the desired position and then press start again...

Ohhh now I get it. Always thought you mean the stock rom video player. Never noticed that I can seek when the video isn't running.
Not ideal, but much better than looking every movie from the beginning :D
Thank you for the additional information

Thanks for this great service! After a lot of trying I finally got it working. Now I have one thing that's bothering me. If I use the videostreaming, I can go to "Shares", "Videos", "Series" and "Films". Everything is working well except for "Videos". It's empty. Why would this be?

In the mediaportal configuration I have videofolders selected, and they will show up in MediaPortal itself.

    This might help...
