LCD's can also get burn in, but it can sometimes be fixed. I know this from the log in screen burned into the Lap tops we use to log in to our servers at work. On LCD's the pixels can get stuck when they are in the same state for a long time. The fix is to cycle trhough all the primary colours and black and white very quickly for a few days. Doesn't always work though...

A bigger problem is the TV stations displaying their logos in a fixed location. Many people I know with plasmas (myself included) have issues with burning caused by this. Although it seems to fade after a while.

    ^^ what NLS said before..

Even without inbuilt functions you can download a specific movie of white noise - leave this running a few days and most burn-in effects should be gone.

Every discussion about pixel rotation is useless here if we speak of static pictures like the MP GUI...

I Think the holy grail here is a screen saver that inverts/cycles the onscreen colours so that you can still see the display but the brightness/colours are constantly changing. Failing that its back to careful viewing habits.

technically you don't get burn in from the black bars. The bars end up brighter than the rest of the screen if they get less use.
It looks just as annoying as regular burn in.

It seems to me its quite impossible for MP to do this function ..whereas Windows itself, or your graphics card drivers would be more likely the place to start looking for "rotating-pixel" solutions

i know..i know..they dont do that yet...and they may never included functions like that ....but heres a question....

if u buy a plasma that does this "rotating-pixels" u mentioned..why not buy that?

i suppose u want a buy a cheaper plasma and get the "rotating-pixels" done by software?

This will never happen by a program or by a driver. You see plasmas "have to take care of themselves". It is a dying product (I don't think there will be plasma in the market in 2 years), so you understand that nobody except the plasma vendors themselves is going to take care of the product problems.

@CyberSimian Sorry, I missed your last post. I ended up doing a clean install on the client and all is well now. It still doesn't let me go back in time when I change channels but it does continue operating from that point on. I'm ok with that. Thanks for your help! EDIT: I now downgraded the server (as I did with the client above)...

Hi This is a general question about OnX. I have been using the TvWishList plugin for a while and have recently updated (update install) from MP 1.36 x86 to 1.37 x86 and found there seemed to be no Onx menu in the TV guide. I then configured the onx.presets.xml file like I would normally do with updates or fresh installs, but still...

Sorry, it's my fault -- I did not notice that you are using MP2. :( MP1 has a separate configuration utility, similar to "TV Server Config". I have tried MP2 only a couple of times, and have never used it seriously. I don't know what MP2 supports with regard to adjusting audio delay, but I do know that all of the adjustments of...
