No what I am looking for is the actually interface of the screen ever you are on the main page or in the move section to be always moving by moving I mean the pixel's moving therefore no burn-in even if you leave it on that screen for 5 hrs :).

There no need for screen saver

    Graf,
I afraid that you have lost me.
Pixels are static, they, to the best of my knowledge, just change colour and increase and decrease their output intensity.
As for move, I just don't get it.

To change the colour or intensity of the Pixels that make up an image will change the image, and I think you will notice that.

If you have an example of an existing system or technology that does what you are looking for, please point it out and may be then we would have a better idea of what you are suggesting

    Cheers

I think graf is meaning that you should take whatever is on the screen (e.g. homepage, radiomenu or musicmenu) and move that "picture/screen" around. But only one pixel up, down, left, rigt so it will be hardly noticed by the user.

    Is that right graf?

I'm no expert on burn-ins... I think the picture still will burn-in as most of the pixels would not change color by a so small movement but it's possible the burn-in will be softer and less noticable as the contrast (of the burn-in) will be lower.

mean the pixel's moving therefore no burn-in
you can NOT move a pixel it is a fixed group of Red, Blue and Green dots that make this pixel. the fuction that i think you are looking for only moves the image from one pixel to another pixel

you will STILL get burn-in if you leave a STATIC image. if you move the image around just alittle. Instead of just "1" pixel being "damaged" you will get a small group, but the diffrents between the damaged ones and the nots will be soften due the the movement. It will also take a longer time to etch into the glass.

I can till you that on my pLasma, it has a long life fuction. but all this realy does is wipe the screen with a white bar so that the pixels get a full "on" for a sec and the back to want every info it had. i've only had a vary small burn-in. this was due to the black bars(above and below) from Foxal letterboxing there images on some channels. but i truned longlife on for a 2day and i can't see it anymore.

You will never get away from a Burn-in if you leave a constent image e.g MPs menu on a screen for a extended time or periodicly.

i just did a qiuck Google and i hope this will help explain how a plasma work for you

What he is refering to is image shifting/orbiting/whatever the manufacturer calls it. Normally it is a function of the plasma panel rather than the device sending it the signal. It justs shifts the image a few pixels in a direction every 20 minutes or so normally in a slow circle of the screen, its pretty unnoticeable. As mentioned previously it will not prevent image retention or screen burn(permanent image retention) but it helps soften and reduce it. It would be a nice option in MP but it is not a complete solution to leaving media portals menu on the screen for hours on end. The best solution for that is the screen saver mentioned above there really isnt a good solution for static images on a plasma its just one of those things you have to adapt to. The only way i could see to prevent burn in is maybe if the image inverted to negative (i.e colors reversed) every 10 mins of inactivity and then flipped again 10 minutes later.

what he means is media potal should shift the whole pedia portal screen up by 1 pixel and then right 1 pixel and down 1 pixel and then left 1 pixel. thus 'rotating' as the user is sitting far away from the screen this will not be noticed.

as far as i no this is built into plasma's screens them selvs. i think mine does, pannasonic pw7.

Mine doesn't and a lot of other people does as well. But Having something like that would be a good thing. As as far as I know no other Home Media Software has it. It will be a first :D

    1) You guys should probably kill your plasma panels (a dying technology after all) and start using LCD (maybe a nice 1080P one, with 8ms panel and high-contrast... even wait a bit for LED backlights and that completely kill plasmas in every single battle).

    2) I am aware of pixel "rotation", but:

    - On an 1:1 pixel-mapped environment like a computer display with the same resolution as the panel, moving a pixel (or few pixels) THE IMAGE (not the pixels themselves of course) WILL be noticable.

    - If we are talking about MP screens, then shifting the image will cause the burn-in anyway (since there are big areas with the same-or-very-close colors, so moving the image a bit will NOT in fact change color or intensity to most pixels), just blur the burn-in of text. Nothing more.

    - In our case (exactly because of the big areas mentioned above) burn-in will happen EVEN WHEN NOT in inactivity since most MP screen does remain the same anyway (it is not like TV movement).

    3) The only viable solution would be inverting the colors as someone else said.

    4) Having said that I still don't get WHY this cannot be done by a screensaver? Google around and I am sure everything you want is there.

    5) (this place was reserved so I would be harsh, but decided not to be)

Plasma is admitedly a dying technology but as of today LCD screens still dont give as good a picture, colour range and black levels as plasma screens so while what you say will be true in a year or two, buying an LCD today because some time in the future they will be better than plasma is folly.

@CyberSimian Sorry, I missed your last post. I ended up doing a clean install on the client and all is well now. It still doesn't let me go back in time when I change channels but it does continue operating from that point on. I'm ok with that. Thanks for your help! EDIT: I now downgraded the server (as I did with the client above)...

Hi This is a general question about OnX. I have been using the TvWishList plugin for a while and have recently updated (update install) from MP 1.36 x86 to 1.37 x86 and found there seemed to be no Onx menu in the TV guide. I then configured the onx.presets.xml file like I would normally do with updates or fresh installs, but still...

Sorry, it's my fault -- I did not notice that you are using MP2. :( MP1 has a separate configuration utility, similar to "TV Server Config". I have tried MP2 only a couple of times, and have never used it seriously. I don't know what MP2 supports with regard to adjusting audio delay, but I do know that all of the adjustments of...
