    Hi All,

OK thanks to Mortus I received a card (nice bracket  ) and have had a play with it...

The unfortunate news is that the Tuner is a Samsung model and has a Zarlink MT352 demodulator.
This has made it very difficult to hack an existing BDA driver to force it to work as there are not many Conexant Fusion 878A DVB-T cards out there and the ones that do have different tuner / demodulator hardware and hence when the driver has been forced to be detected as a AverMedia card the Tuner driver does not load - typically error code 10 in Device Manager.

Just FYI - similar Conexant 878A cards are:

    Twinhan VisionDTV Ter
    DVICO FusionHDTV DVB-T Lite
    Nebula DigiTV PCI (No BDA)
ChainTech DTT 1000 PCI (No BDA)

    Samsung Tuner cards...

ADS Tech Instant TV DVB-T PCI
    K-World V-STREAM Xpert DTV

The only driver which I have managed to load succesfully is Spectrum's Twinhan driver but this won't tune the channels :-(.
I have asked Spectrum if he will let me have his source code to see if I can modify his tuner driver for the AverMedia hardware - lets see if I get a reply.

    @Dman:
I hope you get a good answer from Spectrum.
It'll be great if you may fix/hack some driver so we may use the AverTV 771 with MediaPortal.

Thanx for all help and time you are giving to us, owners of the AverTv 771. =)

    Regards

OK - I can get the DVICO drivers working and MP to recognise the AverMedia 771 etc however still no luck tuning.

does anything at all work without the original avermedia drivers?

Does that mean we could manually tune if we know our channel frequencies. because i would be happy with that
