I think the problem is that this yellow is not the same colour they use for the glass - so you will see a shadow. What I dislike most is the real dark clouring of the glasses - it's making headache on teh right eye cuase it's mostly covered in dark blue.

Anyway For me it's more plaing around as I have a 3D television ...

I will know more when i get my own ColorCode glasses.

At the moment i own only Red-cyan, so soon i will get the ColorCode ones and the Magenta-Green, will test them out and report here.

    Ok back to Deinterlacing:

I did some research and found out that the "-di:{0|1}" is used as a command to force On/Off deinterlacing (Enables (value 1) or disables (value 0) ) withing stereoscopic filter.

    And now the interesting part:

Stereoscopic filter itself has 3 options for deinterlacing 1.Auto 2.On 3.Off, so i decided to do some tests, i got an interlaced video and opened it within stereoscopic player, set the deinterlacing to Auto and got the right results (deinterlacing was done), then i set it to Off and got no deinterlacing done, so this leads to the conclusion that there is probably a command for Auto too but it is not written/exposed in the command manual.

So i went ahead even deeper, i opened the same video file and exported its .svi metadata BUT each time with a different setting for deinterlacing, the results are confirming the theory that there is a 3rd hidden option for Auto deinterlacing cause each file (although encrypted so i am unable to read the actual text) has a small part that is different, so the metadata file is flagged differently in each of the 3 cases.

Now, i am not a developer and my knowledge on computer software is limited, for all i know i might be completely wrong and Auto/On is exactly the same thing, so don't take it for granted that my findings are correct.

In any case if it is too hard to expose Auto it is still fine, but then we will need the On/Off option to be available within MP 3D Menu during live playback cause i for one wouldn't like to keep it on On all the time even though i know that i am watching a 720p channel.

    Hey,

I've been trying my amber-blue glasses which arrived today.

The amber-blue is far more preferrable than the red-cyan and I find the colour perception much better and the overall experience much nicer.

Watching the yellow-blue output in MP certainly gives a small amount of ghosting. However, watching proper amber-blue videos on youtube also gives a similar amount of ghosting.

From looking at the Wiki article it seems to make the point that by darking the yellow to amber slightly it does introduce a bit of ghosting but this is accepted as a by product of making the viewing experience much more comfortable:

Modern proprietary companies have developed schemes (many of which are patented or patent pending) that purposely integrate a limited amount of ghosting in one or both eyes that purportedly makes anaglyph images more pleasant to view, but these schemes generally remain based upon one of the six basic combinations. In the cases of lighter colors being paired with darker ones (e.g. red-cyan, red-green or especially yellow-blue), the lighter color may need to be darkened to allow both eyes to work equally and to avoid introducing a possibly undesired Pulfrich effect.

You can already watch anaglyph 3D video without any plugins. Any regular display can show two images in different colors and the anaglyph glasses will filter one color to each eye.
What this plugin can do, together with stereoscopic player, is to convert for example Side-by-side 3D videos to anaglyph when played in MP.

    Hi ,

according to the mp3d project page this plugin can be used without a 3DTV
"Experience 3D without the need of a 3DTV (using cheap coloured glasses)"

can you explain what that mean , can i see 3d videos on a regular TV using this plugin and the stereoscopic player on mediaportal system?

    thanks.

    Tzach

you can do that by "using cheap coloured glasses" and the relative anaglyph output mode ...
if your glasses are green/magenta, use the green/magenta output mode and u'll see 3d!

This really is a fantastic plugin!!!

Can anyone help me with the following questions:

    1. I am using DVD Fab 3D Blu-ray ripper to create side by side MKVs of my blu-rays. Is anyone else using any alternative software?

    2. Is there likely to be any way to playback unencrypted .ssif files directly in MP and then applying the plugin directly without having to rip the disc first?

    3. I am having problems activating and using the 3D plugin with my hauppauge remote and am having to use the keyboard. I know I can use eventghost to map a key press to the remote but has anyone solved this by changing setting in the plugin or the remote section in mp?

    Thanks

Can somebody help me? The plugin seems to work fine on normal movies, but MediaPortal won't even start playing a SBS mkv file. I wonder if this is a plugin problem, or a MP problem.

    Hi.
This is neither a problem of the plugin nor MP in general... I have watched lots of SBS mkv with this plugin. Seems to be a codec/splitter problem on your system, or a problem of the mkv itself.
