Re: [PoC - Update 2010/09/12] MP3D - Render 3D via MediaPortal!

In the Mediaportal is the mode (1. DVD, 2. Radio, 3. Video, 4. TV, and so on).
In the "video" plugin works fine.
And in the "TV" plugin is not included in the 3D mode.
I need this plugin to work in the "TV" to view the 3DTV (with DVB cards).

Oh, I see. Sorry for not getting it earlier.
So, I guess, this reply of this question does not suit you?
TV playback will not be supported until the video playback is proven stable. The plug-in is not in Alpha stage yet.

Thank you very much for what you have understood me.
I really do not know much English.
I use a translator.
I beg you to continue working on plugins.
This will help so many people watching, not only 3D video.
This will help to watch 3D TV.
Thank you again.

    Re: [PoC - Update 2010/09/12] MP3D - Render 3D via MediaPortal!

    This must be the plug-in I was searching for! I bought myself a "Sony 40HX800 3D LED LCD TV", a 3D Transmitter and a couple of 3D Active Shutter Glasses.
    Installed the 3dtv.at Stereoscopic Player trial, you're plug-in and configured it. Downloaded the demo video and added it to media portal. I am able to press 3 to activate 3D and have the 3D settings under the F9 context menu. However, I’m still not able to view the movie in 3D.

    I don't think it has anything to do with your plug-in because when playing it within the Stereoscopic Player trial it's also not in 3D. I must be doing something wrong, or I can't find the right settings.
    As you probably figured out I’m totally new to this. I’m pretty sure that as soon as it works within the player, it works in media portal (by using this plug-in)
    Can anybody advice which viewing mode I should use within this player? Do I need to configure something on my television (enable 3D or configure it somehow?)

    Thanks in advance!

    Nice TV you bought yourself!!
    Yes, if the TV is not showing 3D via 3dTV.at player, it's not going to show anything different inside MediaPortal.
    I do not have a Sony 3D TV but I guess it goes the same: In Samsung I have a 3D button on my TV's remote control. When I press it the 3D menu pops up and let's me select the source format.
    The source format I select must be the same as the output format of the plug-in. So, if you see the video Side by side, then select the side by side format in TV's 3D menu.

    Now, I hope I understood your problem when you say "it's not 3D". Are you able to see the movie in clear Side by side mode or does each side overlap the other?
    In first case, your TV 3D mode is not enabled. In latter, you did not power up your shutter glasses :p

    Re: [PoC - Update 2010/09/12] MP3D - Render 3D via MediaPortal!

    The downloaded player works fine for me during the demo time to convert 3d horizontally split to anaglyph (red/blue). But in Mediaportal (1.1.1) the following happens:

    Pressing 3 brings up a dialog to enable 3D mode, after I enable, the movie playback is still the same.
    then pressing F9 prings up the default 'i' menu where I can select subtitles and other things....

    So, I press 3 again.

    This time I see the 3D selection bar (Don't know how to call this, the bar with the 3D logo inside), it tells me: "Current source format is monoscopic"

    I tried to change this to 'side-by-side', but it keeps saying monoscopic.
    I tried F9, change source, side-by-side
    I tried right-left arrow --> no change
    I tried pressing 0 --> no change
    The bar in top keeps saying source=monoscopic, I tried playing with the defaults in F9 menu, but that doensn't help too

    I tried to find some setting file, to set the defaults manually, but I couldn't find something.

    Setting the output format, I didn't try; as it sounds logical to me, that monoscopic can't be transformed to anaglyph format.

    Also, in de MP configuration, the plugin sets the 3d plugin in de postprocessing listbox, but with an inactived checkbox.
    1. Do I have to remove the filter from this box?
    2. Do I have to activate the checkbox (I read the new plugin doesn't need this postprocessing)
    3. or just leave it as it is?

    Please keep developing on this plugin, It has potential to become the best plugin for MP ever!!

    What version of 3dtv.at Stereoscopic player did you install?

    Yes, the postprocessing filters are tweeked at run-time and then it reverts them back to original settings. You do not need to do anything.

    (You can call the "3d selection bar" as "3D mode".)
    Thank's for using, have fun!

    Re: [PoC - Update 2010/09/12] MP3D - Render 3D via MediaPortal!

    Hi ScRePt,

    I tried both the 164 and 162 version of the player. Both have the same result from the MP plugin point of view. Not able to change in or output mode. (Well, I can select something, but it's always showing defaults)

    The installed demo player works fine for both versions (162 and 164). What version does your plugin require? 162 or is the newer 164 also fine?

    Is there anyway to set the default original settings (in a config file or whatever), so it revers to my default settings (side-by-side input and red/blue anaglyph output)

    Thanks for your quick reply

    Re: [PoC - Update 2010/09/12] MP3D - Render 3D via MediaPortal!

    It requires the latest (1.6.4)

    Yes, the default source and output formats can be set in the config xml (MP3D.xml which is in the same folder as MediaPortal.xml)

    It seems that the filter fails to initialize. Do you have any other post processing filters applied? Windows version? 64? Locale? 3D renderer used? How many different videos you've tried? Did you uninstall 162 before installing 164?

    cu

    Edit: Edit the MP3D.xml only if you know what you are doing. I cannot support tweeked xmls ... I hope u understand. Always keep bakcups..

    I don't have any other post processing filters.

    Windows version is Vista 32 bit
    Locale = Dutch
    codecs = SAF 5 unlocked
    I tried at least 10 different videos; all sourced side-by-side mkv cointainers and ts files
    I started with version 164, later I saw the link in first post pointed to 162, so I uninstalled 164 and installed 162

    I hope you have some tips for me that I can try
