Thanks for the logs. I haven't got time to look at the code right now (I will do so in the next few days), however I can see that the issue is related to the "crossbar" filter for your card. I'll post again here when I know more or if I need more information

    :)

    Hi again ce6at

I have had a good look at the logs and I'm starting to understand the problem. If I am going to fix it then I'll need more information so I have put together a special debug build for you to try. It is attached to this post. Instructions for use:

    1. Stop the TV Server
    - Go to TV Server configuration
    - Click on "manual control" in the left hand side
    - Click on "stop service"
    - Close the configuration
    2. Navigate to your MediaPortal TV Server install folder.
    3. Take a backup copy of TVLibrary.dll
    4. Download the binary patch from this post. Unzip the TVLibrary.dll into your TV Server install folder.
    5. Restart the TV Server
    - Go to TV Server configuration
    - You should see a popup asking you whether you want to start the TV Server service.
    - Click "yes"

Once you have installed the debug build by following the instructions above, please give me some new logs:
    1. Clear your TV Server tv.log and error.log
    2. Attempt to tune/scan an analog TV or FM channel (something that you know doesn't work)
    3. Post your tv.log and error.log here.

There is one other thing I will need as well. Can you please download and install this program. After it is finished installing:

    1. Run the program as administrator
    2. Click on the "graph" menu, then click "insert filter" (1st item).
    3. In the top left box select "WDM streaming crossbar devices".
    4. In the box beside it select "all filters".
    5. Take a screenshot.
    6. There should be an entry in the list "7231 BDA Analog Xbar 0". Select this, then click on the "insert" button.
    7. In the top left box select "WDM streaming TV tuner devices".
    8. In the box beside it select "all filters".
    9. Take a screenshot.
    10. There should be an entry in the list "7231 BDA Analog TV Tuner". Select this, then click on the "insert" button.
    11. Close the popup window.
    12. Take a screenshot.

Once you have the three screenshots please post them here along with your logs.

I'm sorry for all the instructions and work for you. :sorry:
Unfortunately it is the only way that I can get the information that I need to tell me what is going wrong.

Let me know if you have any problems or don't understand the instructions...

    Dear mm1352000,
i followed your instructions and here are the new logs.

    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2676185/tvnew.log
    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2676185/errornew.log

and here are the screen shots.
However i have two "7231 BDA Analog Xbar" items in the WDM streaming crossbar devices window so i selected the first one.
Did i suppose to have only one?

Thank you ce6at for the logs and screenshots. That was exactly what I needed :D

As I suspected, the main reason that analog doesn't work on the BGT3595 is related to the crossbar. I own 2 Pinnacle PCTV 7010ix cards. They are almost exactly the same as the BGT3540. Analog works fine for them. The critical difference (between the BGT3595 and BGT3540) is that the BGT3540 crossbars have "video tuner in" and "audio tuner in" pins (you can see this in the attached screenshot).

There are two ways that we might be able to solve this problem:
    A. You mentioned that you saw *2* "7231 BDA Analog Xbar" devices in the list. I was not expecting that. Perhaps the second crossbar has the pins that are missing from the first crossbar. Please take a screenshot of all the crossbars in your system:

    1. Run GraphStudio as administrator
    2. Click on the "graph" menu, then click "insert filter" (1st item).
    3. In the top left box select "WDM streaming crossbar devices".
    4. In the box beside it select "all filters".
    5. Select each filter (one by one) and click on the "insert" button to add the crossbar to the graph. When you have finished you should have 5 crossbar devices showing in the graph.
    6. Take a screenshot.

    B. The pins on the crossbar might be labelled incorrectly. This is unlikely. To test this, please try

    1. Add all the crossbar filters to the graph using the instructions above.
    2. Add the "7231 BDA Analog TV Tuner" from the "WDM streaming TV tuner devices" category to the graph.
    3. Try to connect the "analog video" pin on the "7231 BDA Analog TV Tuner" to each of the video pins on each of the crossbars. To do this:

    i. Hold your mouse over the "analog video" connection.
ii. Click and hold the mouse button down.
iii. Drag the mouse over to a pin named "Video ******" on a crossbar. An arrow should appear as you start to drag.
iv. Let go of the mouse button when the mouse pointer is positioned over the crossbar pin.
    v. If the line between the tuner and crossbar *stays* then they are successfully connected. If it *disappears* then the connection failed.
vi. (You can only make one connection to each pin, so to try the next pin you may have to break a connection. Click on the arrow. It should be highlighted in blue. Press the "delete" button.)

    4. Please tell me if you are able to connect the tuner to any of the crossbars. I need to know the name of the crossbar as well as the name of the pin *for each successful connection*.

The other problem is that there is a bug in TV Server. TV Server should try all the available crossbars (you have 5), however it only tries the first. I have fixed this bug and created a new DLL for you to try. If things go *really* well then this may fix everything. Please try it and then post your error and tv logs.

I apologise once again for asking you to do so much work. Hopefully we can solve this problem quickly :)

    Hi,
A little off topic but someone may be able to help... Does anyone have contact (phone not email) details for Black Gold? Or experience of ordering from them? I placed an order for a BGT3595 card at the weekend (all seem to go ok), but so far I have not seen any sign of the promised confirmation email. Is this normal? How long does it usually take them to deliver?

    Thanks

    Andy

I received an order confirmation pretty quickly, 6 days later I received an email telling me where I could download the drivers from and then a couple of days after that I received the card.

Have you had the money taking from the Card you used? If not, I would assume the order didn't go through correctly. Otherwise I'd check the email hasn't been marked as spam etc.

I think you can also view your order on BlackGold's website, but from what I remember it's very hard to find the page without having the actual link from the order confirmation email.

Slightly off topic, but it appears that the 3620 card is now available for ordering. This is a DVB-T2 card, so will be capable of picking up the Freeview HD channels.

    Hi mm1352000,

I quickly tried your CrossBar fix, I don't receive an error when trying to view a channel like I do with the standard MP build, however the channel always remains blank, with no video.

I need to test properly and provide clean logs etc. (which hopefully I'll be able to do this evening), however I wanted to at least let you know that this still isn't quite working.

Many thanks for your efforts with this, it's most appreciated :D

    Hi Bagal

I wasn't particularly hopeful that my build would solve the problem entirely since I the bug I fixed was general (and relatively minor). Your comments seem to suggest that we might be closer than I thought which is good news! I would welcome the chance to look at your logs - the sooner you can get them to me, the sooner I can eliminate the next "roadblock". If you are able then please can you also provide the screenshots that I asked ce6at to grab. These are important, but not as urgent as the logs. Would be great to have something to look at in the next 24 hours...

    :)

Ok, so perhaps a solution, but not the "right" solution. On the client, within media portal configuration, under TV settings, advanced options, I switched to UNC paths instead of the default RSS, and it's working very well. Sure I had to figure out the paths, but no big deal. Maybe helpful for someone in the future. Thanks for the...
