This is what it used to look like
I have uploaded the menu that I am trying to get back to.
No luck so far.
I keep gettign this other menu where the shows are listed on the lower right with two images above.
I think this is geared towards fanart. but am not sure how to get that working.
I made the mistake of trying to upgrade this weekend. I should have left it alone..it wasn't broken. It worked fine

"Leave it alone"? - Nah, no point in having a MediaPortal system unless you're continually tweaking/changing/breaking/fixing things
(or maybe that's just me? )Attached is the fanart file - sorry, I thought it was part of the download I directed you to - that's the problem with working on a different version of the skin to what you guys are using, plus working on about 10 areas of the skin at once
It doesn't look too good in V5 of the Bleazle skin though because it's a 16:9 format file - if I were you I'd just wait for a few days for V6 to come out...Hi,
would it be much work to create a list view like the MovingPictures plugin has?
It turns out that this can be done!
I'm still sorting out the layout but in V6 you will be able to have Fanart for both MyVideos and MyMusic - here's a screenshot of MyVideos, Icon View (Shares) as it looks on my system at the moment (still some tweaking to do but you get the idea):
The Fanart is optional - if you don't have any Fanart for a movie or an artist the standard background will be displayed.

Thanks for the update Bleazle, looking very nice and I am getting excited for this release even more so!
One question/suggestion I had for the layout of fanart in myvideos was that the row of movies be slightly moved over and another column on the right hand side so we fit more movies in ?

There will be another row of icons I'm just having a bit of an issue with getting MP to "focus" on the correct icon or button at the moment (for some reason it doesn't like it when I change the default panel width) so I was just playing around with the panel when I took that screen shot Hopefully I'll get that sorted today....Dave

You can already download the info for your movies - just use the IMDB download option in MyVideos. The catch is getting the fanart... unfortunately there isn't an automated process for downloading fanart for MyVideos and MyMusic (not yet anyway)
you have to manually find it and save it to a directory (which will be in the skin) and make sure it is named exactly the same as the IMDB title (in the case of videos), plus have it in PNG format. All in all it's a bit of a pain but at least the skin can show the art - it's up to the individual user to decide if they want to download it... Since the videos/movies in the MyVideos section are on a HDD I used MovingPictures to automatically grab the artwork then opened the MovingPictures fanart file, copied, renamed and converted the files before pasting them into the Bleazle skin directory. Still a pain but at least you get decent fanart without having to hunt for it...
Hopefully someone will come up with a fanart grabber for the MyVideos and MyMusic sections - it can't be too hard (for people that know about these things - not me!!) because MovingPictures and TVSeries are already grabbing this stuff....

I can wait till V6 is out.
I have my system working again. Half the fun of having the system is playing with it and tweaking it. I am on the same page as you.
Just I picked the wrong time to do it and then the 5 to 9 boss gets made cuase she can't watch her shows. Sigh. I even built her, her own system..oh well married life.
Can you tell me if V6 has the 15 banner menu I love so much. I am getting the impression the new menu format uses fanart..so that would be cool.
Also one last dumb question..once I select a program and go into the menu for that program. I get these banners for the seasons. Is that right, I ask cause they seem to mess up the fan art. Perhaps its just me and I am not sure what to expect.
I guess I just liked the older style with the list of seasons down the right side.
Anyway..I will shut up now and wiat for V6 like a good little mp user..have a great one and thanks for the fab skin.

I know where you're coming from - I seem to have a habit of trying something out that causes MP to crash and/or freeze the computer when it's halfway through recording her stuff - doesn't help create domestic bliss...You weren't going to get the 15 banner version in V6 - I was going to use the skin that's been developed for Blue3Wide which only shows 12 banners and then covers the programme page in big pictures that pretty much makes fanart unviewable because I didn't want to spend the time sorting it out to make it like the current view in 5a at this stage BUT since you asked (and because I really don't like the Blue3Wide skin option) I'll change it.
In the banner view you mean? Yes it does - personally I don't like it but the option will be there (it's part of the new TVSeries dll) I think you can even use it now since you've got the latest dll file...(I think it's under "options")
What TVSeries XML file are you using? you should still be using the one included in V5a. Are you using the one for Blue3 (Wide)? If you are you're looking at the layout that I don't like so you know what I mean. As covered above this will be tweaked to look like 5a in V6

Yeah, you do that!! Update on progress (since I'm sitting in a cafe and can't do anything on MP right now..)
- Fixed the alarm details issue but had to "unfix" the slide in menu double clicking issue - I found out why it has to be set up this way (not worth explaining though)
- Still to do: MyFilms plugin support, TVSeries support, plus a bit more general tweaking - the back of it is broken though - a couple more days work and it should be done....
