...or you could just copy the "basichome.xml file" + the icons from V7 into V8 and you'll get the advantages of the new skin plus the look you like for the basic home screen. I don't think I can give the skin a new name just because the basic home screen is different - it's evolving and right now that's the look I like - who knows it could change again in the future...

I've just added a new "top bar" file to the first post which includes the shut down button.

I want to tune my home screen. But before modifying the xml file, can you tell me if is it possible to had extra buttons (i mean buttons upon the selected one with animation) for the 3 ones of the middle (ie TV guide, TV record and video). I'd like to had extra buttons to those ones.

Sure thing - anything is possible - it just depends on how comfortable you are with playing around with the code - it will mainly be "copy and paste"...(well that's the easy part..) Firstly make a backup copy of the BasicHome.xml file. I recommend making additional copies as you go if things are working - there's nothing worse than having your changes working and then you make more changes and get it wrong

Here are a few pointers (just in case you need them):

1. Copy & paste the code at the top of the page which defines one set of the additional buttons and then "tweak" from there. eg. (i.e. links images & text that will be shown). Same for the code which actually shows the buttons further down - it'll be easier if you use the same "hidden" button code in both instances. You could paste all of this this into something like Word (if you don't have XML editing software) and change a lot of things at once, such as extraLHS2bottom to extraLHS4bottom etc and then paste that back into the BasicHome.xml file

2. Remember to change the ID numbers for the button code you copy - and then you'll have to change the <visibility> tag to suit the new ID number...

4. Use the "x" dimension for the button you're adding the hidden butons to to work out the "x" dimension for the buttons you're adding. If you're not sure what you're doing the best thing to do would be to draw an existing button & it's hidden buttons on a piece of paper and work out which code does what - then you'll be able to see what you need to change.

5. You will need to remove the tag for the "hover" image for these buttons (+ for the main buttons you're stacking them on top of) otherwise you will get a hover image showing through your additional buttons...

Note: The ID numbers I used are all over the place because I developed the idea as I went so you'll need to make sure you don't use an existing ID number (and that includes the ID numbers in the Topbar.xml file). I haven't checked but if you start on say 862 and work up (863, 864 etc) you should be fine... I hope...

I like this new version of the Bleazle skin.

Here are some questions:
1. I don't need the button "TV guide" and "TV record" because I don't use MP for watching TV. I read the last thread but I didn't understand most of it. Probably because of my bad english Do you see a chance to configure this for the future in a more easy way?
2. Further I want to add one or two buttons on the top of the "videos" button. How can I realize this?
3. Next time I want to install moving pictures 1.0. In the moving pictures thread I've seen that only in the "filmstrip view" some details like "Dolby digital", "SD", "HD", "16:9" and so on are not shown. Does your new V8 skin support this details even in "filmstrip view"?
4. Like other guys here in this forum I miss the "standy button" too!

There won't be an easier way unless someone who knows how to make one of those automatic menu making apps makes one for BleazleWide. To change the buttons you're talking about take a look at the first post in this thread from here "1. Open BasicHome.xml in notepad or something similar..." If you follow the steps I think you'll be OK....

This is a bit harder (as covered in my post above). Maybe I'll add an alternative BasicHome which includes these buttons in the next release...

I added a zip file to the first post in this thread a while ago that includes the standby button.

Glad you like V8 - I'll try to get an updated version out soon - it has a few new features

RHS bottom extra button doesn't work

Hi Bleazle,
I have a problem. The buttons "Far right hand row - BOTTOM BUTTON and 2nd row in from the right BOTTOM BUTTON" doesn't work. Both TOP extra buttons are working. And I'm using YOUR original basichome.xml.

Please help!

That's my fault, I accidentally left some "plugin is enabled" code there. The attached BasicHome file will fix that for you.

My problem is in the Home screen I want the 4 buttons across the top from version 7.1.0
I use the restart and close buttons qiute often
How can I get these back?
