Hi Boilermaker,
I have been stuck at home with some idle time to kill, so I have been playing around with BlueTwo 1280x720 and have noticed some odd things. I have compared the following with the the default BlueTwo skin and noticed that they do not occur there too.
All these comments relate to using just the standard MCE remote control unit.
TV
I noticed that you moved the station name to the top left of the preview window, but it looks like the LHS of the text should line up with the LHS of the preview window?
Under the menu option SCHEDULED, SORT BY, pressing the right arrow should highlight the little “up/down” window (not sure of its technical name – is that the “spin wheel”?), in the bright green that is used to highlight other selections? Pressing “OK” at this point changes the “up/down” arrow, so it is working correctly.
A similar problem exists in RECORDED TV, the selection of the “up/down” arrow is not highlighted.
While in the TV Guide, if I select a future program to record, the next screen displayed (TV Program Information) may display more than one item of the type that I selected (at different times, for example), but I am unable to move the cursor with the MCE remote arrow keys to that list on the right in order to select the particular program that I want to record.
VIDEOS
It is not possible to move down the list of menu items on the LHS by pressing “down arrow” – only the first item (View: List) is selectable…
SETTINGS (I have this item under PLUGINS)
Similar to VIDEOS, I cannot move down the list of menu items on the LHS by pressing “down arrow” on the MCE remote – the highlight is stuck on the first item “Setup Wizard”. Also, these 8 menu items are a little high up on the screen – they could be moved down the width of one menu bar to look more balanced.
TRAILERS
I cannot move the cursor to the left column of menu items (Starts with, etc)
MUSIC and RADIO
I have these to display large icons. When first entering either of these screens, all the icons are displayed “half-brightness” and an individual icon will only go to full brightness when the cursor is moved to that icon. I would prefer that all icons are displayed at their full brightness always (so it is easy to see what the icon really says) and have the selected icon be identified by the slightly increased size and the bright green boarder – same as is done in default BlueTwo.
DVD
When pressing Pause, or Information, the large OSD that is displayed near the bottom of the screen has the elapsed time numerals flowing off the right-hand end of the OSD background. It would probably look better if the elapsed time numerals could be centrered in the OSD window in this mode, as there is no other information being displayed.
One final request – is it possible to slightly increase the font size of the text (like the word “television”) that appears in pale blue in the top left-hand corner of each screen? I would like it to be more dominant. I am happy to do this to my version if you are reluctant to do it to the version you distribute.
If my descriptions don’t make sense, please let me know and I will post some screen shots to illustrate what I mean.
Cheers,
Taipan
