    Hi Boilermaker,

I have been stuck at home with some idle time to kill, so I have been playing around with BlueTwo 1280x720 and have noticed some odd things. I have compared the following with the the default BlueTwo skin and noticed that they do not occur there too.

All these comments relate to using just the standard MCE remote control unit.

    TV
I noticed that you moved the station name to the top left of the preview window, but it looks like the LHS of the text should line up with the LHS of the preview window?

Under the menu option SCHEDULED, SORT BY, pressing the right arrow should highlight the little “up/down” window (not sure of its technical name – is that the “spin wheel”?), in the bright green that is used to highlight other selections? Pressing “OK” at this point changes the “up/down” arrow, so it is working correctly.

A similar problem exists in RECORDED TV, the selection of the “up/down” arrow is not highlighted.

While in the TV Guide, if I select a future program to record, the next screen displayed (TV Program Information) may display more than one item of the type that I selected (at different times, for example), but I am unable to move the cursor with the MCE remote arrow keys to that list on the right in order to select the particular program that I want to record.

    VIDEOS
It is not possible to move down the list of menu items on the LHS by pressing “down arrow” – only the first item (View: List) is selectable…

SETTINGS (I have this item under PLUGINS)
Similar to VIDEOS, I cannot move down the list of menu items on the LHS by pressing “down arrow” on the MCE remote – the highlight is stuck on the first item “Setup Wizard”. Also, these 8 menu items are a little high up on the screen – they could be moved down the width of one menu bar to look more balanced.

    TRAILERS
I cannot move the cursor to the left column of menu items (Starts with, etc)

    MUSIC and RADIO
I have these to display large icons. When first entering either of these screens, all the icons are displayed “half-brightness” and an individual icon will only go to full brightness when the cursor is moved to that icon. I would prefer that all icons are displayed at their full brightness always (so it is easy to see what the icon really says) and have the selected icon be identified by the slightly increased size and the bright green boarder – same as is done in default BlueTwo.

    DVD
When pressing Pause, or Information, the large OSD that is displayed near the bottom of the screen has the elapsed time numerals flowing off the right-hand end of the OSD background. It would probably look better if the elapsed time numerals could be centrered in the OSD window in this mode, as there is no other information being displayed.

One final request – is it possible to slightly increase the font size of the text (like the word “television”) that appears in pale blue in the top left-hand corner of each screen? I would like it to be more dominant. I am happy to do this to my version if you are reluctant to do it to the version you distribute.

If my descriptions don’t make sense, please let me know and I will post some screen shots to illustrate what I mean.

    Cheers,

    Taipan

Maybe...right now its aligned the way it is to stay consistent. the tv channel is defined as the selected item and its position is defined in the window template file.

    All fixed

changed, for both thumbnail and icons to remain consistent

Changed--font made smaller and moved left. for some reason when the font was 60pt, it wouldn't really be right justified. At 48pt, the right align tag works. Not only was the time too far to the right, but if you had a movie image, it was under that too, so it's been moved about 1/3 of the way toward the middle.

Maybe a color change, but i don't want to go much bigger on the size. In an attempt at internationalization, the objects in the top left corner are text (i'm pretty sure you knew that already). It also helps to be consistent in plugin screens that don't come with the image. If i go larger, in some languages that word might be much longer (german comes to mind), and would run off the left of the screen. Let me know if you need to know where to make the change, i'll pm you the place to do so.

no problem...a couple of the problems were found by others using mce1280x720, so i already had them taken care of.
I think i got everything copied over, so i've uploaded an update...i haven't decided yet about the mytvhome, but everything should have been addressed...let me know if i missed something.

This is now fixed for the "Information" OSD, but when I press "Pause", the elapsed time numerals still flow off the right-hand edge of the OSD panel. Could you do the same change to the "Pause" OSD as you did to the "Information" OSD?

I don't use the DVR Cut plugin at all, so it is not important to me, but I noticed that when I select that option, the DVR Cut screen appears largely blank - the only menu item available is "back". I think there should also be a list of shares and a couple of other menu items visible.

PVR Scheduler is a plugin I do use, and when I enter this screen, the first menu item is highlighted (Sort by: Date), and I can move down to the second item (New), but I cannot then move to any of the remainig items (Synchronise, Standby, Hibernate, Shutdown, About)

    Cheers,

should be fixed, don't have pvr scheduler to test it...but the problem was obvious, the onup and ondown tags had the wrong value. Must have been a button in there at one point i took out then never changed those tags.

working on it...must have changed the plugin recently, i swore i tested it recently.

EDIT:skin updated, and uploaded to the server

    Hi Boilermaker,

Any chance of getting the audioscrobbler buttons (currently only svn I think) "under your skin"? That would render a big hand of applause from me.

    Less used, but fyi:
x The Musikvideos Plugin is not skinned for 16x9
x The Wikipedia Plugin does not seem to work (did not test on others yet)

I haven't gone back to just plain old .2.0.4 yet, so i'll try the latest svn with audioscrobbler enabled.
EDIT: The only place i see any reference to audioscrobbler is in the playlist page (which has been added to the skin). Is there anyplace else that i'm missing? Some features weren't working for me with .2.0.4 regardless of skin so now I'm using the svn from 8/22.
x The Musikvideos Plugin is not skinned for 16x9
maybe i copied the wrong file over for musicvideos, but the entire reason i went to an svn version was just to skin that (see the mce thread). I'll go back and doublecheck which file made it into this archive.
EDIT: I checked this plugin and its 16x9, working for me and has all the same controls as the regular blue two skin.
x The Wikipedia Plugin does not seem to work (did not test on others yet)
I haven't been able to get the wikipedia plugin to work in any skin. When I go into the MP config program and try configure the plugin, nothing happens. Hopefully I'll have more luck with the latest svn.
EDIT: I've found the problem...the plugin uses some inconsistent id tags on some of the basic controls, which doesn't allow for the basic imported files to work. I'm going to make a post in the plugin's thread asking that these ids be changed.

Expect a new upload sometime on wednesday

Hi. I re-downloaded and I can not find the "mymusicvideos.xml" file in the downloaded file. You did post to the same location as in the first post of this thread? I remember you had a mesfilms.xml for a while, but that has dissappeared. Any ideas?

When I tested MP 2.5 some months ago using TVE3.5, I found that "scan for channels" failed to find any channels when I selected a DVB-T2 tuner (a TBS 6284) :(, but succeeded when I used a DVB-T tuner (a Pinnacle 2000i) :). Obviously the Pinnacle found only those channels broadcast in DVB-T MUXes (in the UK we have both DVB-T MUXes and...

Hi @Greenhorn7, to help narrow this down a bit, I suspect that when the recordings menu entry is missing you are probably also missing menu entries for Videos, Movies, Series and Images too.
