Ive nearly got a working LAME driven MP3 encoding from a temp wav file.
Ive used CDEX before but didnt think it had a command line. And I dont think its C# from memory. Ive found a C# wrapper for LAME so using that for the minute. Ned to come up with a way to rip the CD to a WAV file and then conceptually im done.....the rest would be GUI stuff.

Just to let everyone know......I have just ripped my first CD into Wav format and then into MP3 format. Just the CDDB stuff to go and then onto the GUI to make it look pretty :)

    egonspengleruk,

Not sure if want to use or write your own but it looks like MP source
has freedb lookup code(in Core\FreeDB). I think it is used in the
    GUIMusic code (GUIMusicFiles.cs)

    HTH,

Yeap. Already found that one. Same as for Ripper to access the CD file system.
Its just a case of getting it all to work together :) Hoping to get CDDB lookup working tonite...and then next week work on the GUI.

    Hi,

I understand I'm far too late with this suggestion, but yesterdag I saw on MSDN it's also possible to use WMP for CD ripping via interop. I haven't really looked into it, but if that method also fetches album art for the ripped CD then that would be awesome. And it would cost a whole lot less time to program it, I think? Just wanted to let you know.

    Kind regards,
    Michel

Fixed, I think. Certainly the vintage MP2 installer that I was using no longer installs the LAV filters. I can only assume that these were never part of the install package itself, but rather downloaded during the install, and that link no longer exists. Shame that the installer doesn't indicate this. Last time when I installed the...

I have also had this problem in the past. There are two components to this problem: Your internet router is pinging the HTPC at regular intervals in order to see if the HTPC is still present on the network. The network adapter in the HTPC has "Wake on Lan" enabled. So at the end of a recording, the HTPC transitions from away mode to...

100% my bad - as expected :) So, I had disabled the Windows Update service. Not a wise move, until MP all installed and working nicely. The reason it failed is because DotNetFrameworkChecker.cs looks in Registry HKLM SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\NET Framework Setup\\NDP for v4/v4.0 AND v3.5. W10 has V4.0 but not 3.5. MP installer...
