I'm considering more than one version of FireDTV (a DVB-C, DVB-T and DVB-S). But does anyone know how many FireDTV you can chain on one FireWire?

Hi Trax,
I tested already two FireDTVs at the same time with mediaportal at everything works perfectly.

Combining different version of FireDTV or FloppyDTV is never a problem. From FireWire point of view you can connect about 5-6FireDTV at the same time and watching at HDTV with each of them without any problem.

You can join the digital everywhere forum and ask there about the multi-tuner capability of FireDTV/FloppyDTV
http://firedtv.com/support

If you can read German you can try asking this other guys about their result in testing multituner capability of FireDTV/FloppyDTV

Actually I solved this myself. I did have the correct driver (it was the only one which would work). But on the drivers download page, there was an additional item called "TBS6281se V2 Change Mode Tool". There was zero documentation to accompany this. I downloaded it and ran it. It is a tool to detect the current run state of both...

It's getting weirder..... If I remove all the IP cards in the TVServer setup and then add them back I can scan the M3u and tune the stations but if I rescan it on the same card it just keeps updating the 1 channel. My brain is melting.........

Perhaps... Only way to confirm would be for me to invest in a different USB DVB-S2 tuner (like the Hauppauge WinTV-NOVA-S2), which I might do if the issue persists.

I am running a Xubuntu machine as a server with all my movies and series on it, I run a VirtualBox VM with Windows 10 installed on the virtual machine and MP1 client installed on that. MP runs fine on the VM but I no longer have a tv tuner to test if passthrough is possible. I don't think it would work anyway.

Thank you for pointing out that my analysis may be less than accurate. :p Although the change to TV channel 71 may not also have been applied to the independent radio channels (different MUXes), the logs that I prepared for one of the development team does show a difference between channel 704 ("BBC Radio 4") and channel 731...
