Cheap DX10 GFX Card

Definately need some feedback on these DX10 cards, and how they react with MP, should be ok as supposedly all backward DX9 compliant, but will Hi-Def TV\Video all be done by Hardware Acceleration, pretty unlikely IMHO, would say the 8600 flavour is more likely at this moment to produce the goods, but as always time will tell.

Have been looking at upgrading my 7900GS, but at the moment cannot justify it.

Much more interesting for a MP system (a real HTPC) will be the new ATI GPU DX10 generation. At least if you want to connect your HD panel via HDMI. The ATI HD 2400 for example comes with a HDMI adapter and a AC3 sound device on board... no more thinking about getting the sound to your HD panel separately. H.264 offloading is onboard as well and the card will be in the same price segment as the Nvidia 8400.

Passive cooling is possible.
The card should be available at the end of this month.

But attention: Don't get a HD 2900 because this cards based on a different chip layout and do not come with H.264 acceleration.
