im having the same problem trying to parse it to show 2 episodes..

File Example:

That 70s Show\7 - 24-25 -

im using this Expression:
Code:
(?<series>[^\\$]+)\\(?<season>[0-9]+) - (?<episode>[0-9]+)(-(?<episode2>[0-9]+))? -\.(?<ext>[^.]*)$

and when I do a parsing test the EpisodeIndex2 displays the correct Episode number but when I go into the database or into my tv shows it doesnt show the 2nd episode, only the first..

any ideas??

funny, thats exactly one of the episodes i have the same problem with ... which version of mp and mytvseries do you use?

Hi All,

I have been playing with the examples posted in this thread and almost got it to work

all my series are in this format: alias\1x01 - titel.avi or, for doubles alias\1x01&02 - titel.avi

Using this Expression:
Code:
(?<series>[^\\$]+)\\(?<season>[0-9]+)x(?<episode>[0-9]+)(&(?<episode2>[0-9]+))? - (?<title>[^\\]*?)\.(?<ext>[^.]*)$

Does the trick... almost
For starters, it does not parse singles (so I had to include a second expression without the episode2 part)
Code:
(?<series>[^\\$]+)\\(?<season>[0-9]+)x(?<episode>[0-9]+)(?<title>[^\\]*?)\.(?<ext>[^.]*)$

Then, if I don't have a title, it will fail to parse on the above expression and will parse on the second, using the &02 as a title. Works fine if I have a title, but that is not common for my files.

In addition, on parsing tests, it will populate the episode index2 with the full path&filename for all single episodes, don't know if that does any bad, but it does not feel right.

Anyone that can point me in fixing my expression (and combine it if possible into 1) ???

Thanks,
Patrick

PS: Parsing of the episodes goes well, however only 1 shows up in the database after an import. is that expected behaviour? episodeindex and episodeindex2 are populated correctly but there also is a combinedepisode number it seems to use.

I am having some real trouble figuring out how to import my double episodes as well. Currently my directory structure/naming scheme looks like this:

MADE UP EXAMPLE
v:\30 Rock\Season 1 - Complete\1.01 Pilot.mkv

So to parse this episode I use the simple expression:

<Series>\Season <season> - Complete\<season>.<episode> <title>.<ext>

So far this has worked without any issues and any double episodes I have simply used a program to split. Now, I have encountered an mkv that I can't split properly due to time codes (it won't let me split it RIGHT at the break between the episodes because of time codes, which annoys me). So, I would rather try to figure out some way to enter in double episodes. I was thinking of naming them like this:

MADE UP EXAMPLE
v:\30 Rock\Season 1 - Complete\1.01-1.02 Pilot--Pilot2.mkv

I decided to use the -- to separate the episode names as I was sure that none of my files had a -- as part of their title. So a simple expression for that format would look like:

<Series>\Season <season> - Complete\<season>.<episode>-<season>.<episode> <title>--<title>.<ext>

However, I know that this won't work as I need 2 separate variables for <season> and <title>. I assume I need to use a regexp expression for this but I haven't the foggiest as to how to put this together. Could someone please assist me. I am happy to provide any other information! Thanks!

I'm not sure simple expressions support double episodes, but if it does, you should use <episode2> and <title2>

Thanks for the suggestion scma. I built a simple expression that was:

<Series>\Season <season> - Incomplete\<season>.<episode>--<season>.<episode2> <title>--<title2>.<ext>

With an episode titled:

1.01--1.02 Prophecy--Destiny.mkv

Unfortunately it didn't import the episode. It looks like this would require a regexp expression to work properly.

I just wanted to bump this and see if anyone had any thoughts. I sure could use some help with a Regexp expression that would work here; I've tried a bit on my own but nothing seems to work out right. Would it be better to post in the "Expressions/Rules requests" thread?

Sorry, it's my fault -- I did not notice that you are using MP2. :( MP1 has a separate configuration utility, similar to "TV Server Config". I do not know why this xml was in my theme folders, it must have sneaked in some time ago (years?). I simply removed the file. The Latest Media Handler plugin seems to be working as expected. I've had no lock-ups.
