Anyone know why Media Portal wont delete certain recorded TV programmes when you tell it to ?

Is this a known issue ? I suspose I could always go to the actually recording and delete it from the drive

No. The MediaPortal.log should tell more as to why files are not deleted.

Yes, but you will then need to manually remove the database entries in the respectiuve section of the MePo Configuration.

Thanks for the log files.
Your log files are so long that trying to find the issues you're talking about is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. So, can you please also specify the date/time and name of the recording(s) that failed to delete.

I have not looked at your logs (why spoil a good theory with facts? ), but I suspect that you have done what I did. In the list of recorded TV, I used the "0" button on the remote control to bring up the "Delete" dialogue, only to find that the "0" button was ignored and there was no diagnostic message displayed.

The reason? The list of recorded TV included both single files and pseudo folders (two or more files with the same name), and I was trying to delete a folder!

The solution? Press the OK button on the pseudo folder to display a list of the files within it, and then you can delete the files one by one.

Comment: MP1 should really do something different in this situation; either:

(1) Display a helpful message, or
(2) Display the contents of the pseudo folder, or
(3) Delete the pseudo folder.

Note: in the "Videos" section, it is possible to delete a folder (complete with content) using the "0" button on the remote control. Is there a reason why "Recorded TV" in not consistent with "Videos"?

I had/have a problem of not deleting RE TV - I have not put any time into following it up. I have a hunch it is something to do with COMSKIP and or that process. It is hit and miss sometimes I can delete and at other times I cannot delete files...
