Don't think so...
Using standard Blue 2...

I only get 8 words followed by '...'

Does the tv guide hit the xml file everytime it is displayed?

    Maybe you are still seeing the data from the previous grabber - force a refresh of the data with "F3" to see if that fixes it?

    Hi r32godzilla,

    It would probably help if you posted your "dugg.ini" file here, 'cause it sounds like you are missing a couple of instructions?

    For example, this is what I have (a portion of my dugg.ini) to create the file MediaPortal is looking for, and to rename the channels to match their names in MediaPortal:-

    Code:
    xmldir=C:\Program Files\MediaPortal\xmltv\
    xmlname=TVguide.xml

    channelswap
    Channel Seven Melbourne
    Seven

    HTH.... :)

    Yeah will have to check it out when I'm home later today and post my ini file. I am pretty sure I have the xmldir line and xmlname lines correct. I don't have that bit where it swaps the channel name, but I think my names match ok in Media Portal. If I cut and paste the 5 or so channel id lines at the top of my old tvguide.xml it will import into Media Portal . The funny thing is out of all of this, for some reason ABC and ABC2 are the only ones that show up in the MP tv guide. Will try and post some pictures of my settings tonight.

    It was driving me nuts last night hehe.

    I have no idea what "TVchannels.xml" is and dugg does NOT make this file.

    If you are talking about "channelinfo.xml" then dugg does make this file but only when in MCE mode. Did you put a line saying "mp" to make it run in MediaPortal mode?

    If you are referring to "channelinfo.xml" then please understand how hard it is to help solve a problem when given a faulty description of the problem like this !

    If no mode is selected it will default to MCE mode and the XML output will be incompatible with MediaPortal. Read the instructions !

    You must be looking at data provided by another grabber. dugg does not have the code logic to count words and limit them to 8.

    dugg can limit the LENGTH of the description but the limit is the number of characters, not the number of words. The default limit for MediaPortal mode is 800. You can over-ride the default as explained in the instructions but it is really only necessary sometimes in MCE mode.

    The 8 word limit is imposed by the Ninemsn TV search function, and is not used by DUGG. If you have data left over from the C#XMLTV grabber than thats properly your answer. You need to clear out the old data and re-import.

    Hi Angusmann,

    sorry but I was going from memory with that tvchannels.xml thing as I was not at home when posting to this forum. You are right, I was looking at a blurry tv screen settings this up and neglected to see that mode was set to MCE.. instead of MP. DOH!! Thanks mate and to everyone else who helped me out.. :)

    Just read my own post and it looks quite agressive. That was not the intention.

    I presume it's now behaving itself as it should, but if not send a PM and we'll sort it out. And just to be sure...remember to turn on the autoupdate feature. With that you should never have to bother checking to see you have the latest version because it will update all by itself.
