since the tvserver auto-discovers the audio/video pids when tuning to a channel.
This is done since audio/video pids change often in some countries, so its better to auto-discover them then storing them in a database

that's not very good for me then it seems.
can there not be an option to change it if required ?

i use that feature in the existing tvengine, and i need it in the new tvengine also.

You can add a custom channel???
However you dont need to specify the audio/video pids since those will be
    discovered automaticly

yeah but i want to be able to add a custom channel and manually specify the PIDs.

i tried editting the values in the database, but it didn't seem to take any notice of the changes.

chenks is right, it resets them every time and sometimes you need to specify custom ones as the auto discovered pids are incorrect

The audio/video pids are not stored in the database. Like i said, they are auto-discovered. The Only pid which is stored in the database is the PMT pid
The DVB standard states that the PMT table should always contain the audio/video pids so no need to store them seperately in the database.
Its a bad idea to store this low-level information in the database since audio/video pids and formats may and do change often on some channels / countries.

The auto discover of pid tables when you create a custom channel doesn't seem to work in encrypted at least channels... tried with the last tv3-svn today (It shows as free to air).
Tried to change it from sql and imported it via the .xml import... it doesn't seem to work.

i love how subtitles are implemented in the MP2 videoplayer, this is just perfect. 1080p playback is also very good. But video playback in MP2 is buggy when playing 4k material. Therefore: PLEASE add an option for an external video player! I'd LOVE to have VLC back as videoplayer, like in MP1! This works perfectly. You will make a...

Sorry, it's my fault -- I did not notice that you are using MP2. :( MP1 has a separate configuration utility, similar to "TV Server Config". I have tried MP2 only a couple of times, and have never used it seriously. I don't know what MP2 supports with regard to adjusting audio delay, but I do know that all of the adjustments of...
