    Hi there,

Your file does not contain a new dshowhelper - but fontengine.dll file???

    Thanks,

    J.

Oh, my bad. One DLL was missing. Now all three are included in this attachement.

Re: AW: Flickering Tv-guide and other overlays with EVR enabled

I get a black picture in Full Screen Mode with SD-TV and while playing back normal videos.

As I said, that issue should be still present as it was not tried to fix.

Could you also look into the problem why the DScaler MPEG2 decoder does not connect anymore within Mediaportal? It did work with MP 1.02 and that was the best MPEG2 decoder for me because it is flicker-free. The filter does not use DXVA, but instead you can use Hardware Deinterlacing and you'll get the same good picture as with the normal Cyberlink filters.

Maybe later, current issues are much more severe.

    Hi again,

    Very quick feedback....... Its pooh!

I don't really suffer from flickering (very minimal), but do suffer from occasional stutters (no frame drops).

But thought I'd try them anyway :D

I tried your three files - and instantly I had really bad flickering (with live content in small/thumbnail view) when viewing menus, etc.

I backed out your files, and everything is fine again.

Let me know if you need logs or anything... got to shoot, off out!

    Thanks,

    J.

for me they're fine. Nearly no flickering with Cat 10.2 - only on some menu's and only for a short time.

    THANKS!

    Hello,

after quick test: no flickering at all, but black screen while playing SD channel fullscreen (sound ok, MP reacts normally - displays dialogs, etc). HD channels are ok in small window and fullscreen

    tourettes,

I tested them today, but on my setup they didn't solve the flickering. It got even worse with these dll's.
And with the worse flickering the deinterlacing problem also seems worse then before on HD channels.
My HD and SD channels however played normally, so no black screens there.

Could you test following DLLs to see if either one of these are solving the black screen issue.

    1) test only fontEngine.dll
    2) test only core.dll
    3) test both combined

I'm really starting to think that ATI and MP is not ever going to be a good combination... btw the same black screen bug was there with 1.0 before that flickering hack was added. Also it seems to effect only 5xxx GPU series.
