Flickering Tv-guide and other overlays with EVR enabled (7 Viewers)

You use Windows 7, right? I also get an exception if I want to call the DScaler filter properties within Mediaportal under Windows 7 (tried the 64 Bit-Version). This does not happen with Vista (32 Bit).

To do this just run graphedit, insert the filter and then you will be able to call the filter properties and change the output color setting to NV12. Just apply it and Windows 7 will store the settings as long as you don't change it again.

No, you set different presets in ffdshow for different material. The negative side is that it does take quite a lot of cpu power.

Oh, now I got the real vector based deinterlacing to work with Ati HD3200. I just had to shut of some Aero stuff. No need for ffdshow. Just use Ati MPEG2 codec.

Right click "My Computer"
Select "Properties"
Select "Advanced system settings" on the left
Select "Advanced" tab -> "Performance" section -> "Settings"
Select "Visual Effects" tab.
Select "Custom" setting
Uncheck "Enable desktop composition"

Now Vector based deinterlacing is available in CCC. Absolutely recommended!!!

Please be aware that disabling AERO under Vista will introduce tearing. MediaPortal's V-sync is managed by the AERO and with AERO disabled it is not possible to "snap" frame presentation to the v-sync (in theory it would be possible, but would require lot of ugly code in dshowhelper.dll).

Shouuut!!! you're right again tourettes, tearing noticed. Anyone know how to have VA deinterlace + AERO with HD3200? Probably not possible.

You need to have a Phenom (with HT3) CPU to enable VA deinterlace with HD3200. See Guide to Building a HD HTPC - Page 85 - AVS Forum for details.

Thanks, but i'we already tried that. It's not enabled until I shut down AERO.

I only have an Athlon 64 dual core.

Try to use DXVAChecker ? DVBViewer DXVAChecker to activate and try some features of ati. I think I had Vector Adaptive with PowerDVD Codec and some tweaks with DXVAChecker running, because it looks some times better then Motion Adaptive. And I also have an Athlon 64. But my Problem was, that with all Codecs and DXVA activated I had Problems with massive flickering in TV Guide ind TV-View.

So at the moment I'm using DScaler without DXVA (tv) and all other Codecs with DXVA (for films, series). Also this is not perfect image quality and I have sometimes also dropouts in TV-Viewing (every 20 Minutes or so). With my DVB-C TV-Tuner this never happens and they both on the same cable connection. But this problem occurs in all constellations.

Thanks, I'll try that. For now, I'm testing if I can live with the small amount of tearing that comes with AERO off and VA deinterlacing. It's the best deinterlacing I've seen so far.
