Probably a silly question...but is it not possible for a DVB-T tuner built in to the TV set to be scanned for channels within the server config utility?

No, MP only works with PC TV cards. It has no way of tuning your TV, and even if it did, it could not record from it.

I have setup Refresh DVB EPG so that BBC One is the grabber channel (which is meant to grab all available channels) but the U&W...

Hauppauge card retired long ago. I have also retired very early SD units, the Quatros seem to work much better than the older units.
