btw... of all the new skins for the comming release doesn't show any DVD cases in the flow option.. is there a limitation?

Uhm.... what do you mean?

some skinners created CD/DVD cases for their covers (you see them mostly in Filmstrip mode) but lately I see only the picture covers only when in Coverflow.

I have this feeling that when in coverflow with cd/dvd case will look flat instead of 3d looking.

That has nothing to do with a limitation. It is a choise of the artist.
Personally, I do not like those DVD cover gfx.

Regarding the stepped borders in coverflow. This might be as easy to fix as using a higher res background gfx. *investigating*
