I haven't done any extensive testing but before installing this SVN I wasn't able to play two videos after each other without a restart of MP (when DVXA was enabled). This is now possible and Haali seems to dispose properly when I stop the video.

Now it's just a matter of testing if any other issues has evolved. :)

Cheers

With the latest SVN
MediaPortal SVN-Snapshot:-10-20-2009 20-02h - Revision:23908.rar I can report the following problems:

Yes, when using DXVA (MPC-HC) Haali is disposed. But when playing the second h264 file, MP crashes after about 10-20second playing the file :( (no message or something, only desktop apears and I must restart MP).
And even more worse: With the DivX h264 (software) codec I had never the Haali dispose problem. But with Build 23908 and using DivX h264 codec, Haali doesn't dispose any more :(

Update: With CoreAVC (in DXVA) MP doesn't crash with the second file, but haali isn't disposed :(

Update 2: With Cyberlink Codec Haali is disposed, but MP crashs while playing second file after abount 10 seconds...

With latest SVN when you seem to havbe fixed the bug when changing betweeen HD channels on LiveTV where the picture would freeze and you had to stop LiveTV and turn it on again to have live picture. Now zaping between HD channels works, but when you go from SD->HD or from HD->SD the same issue appears. I'm using the Arcsoft DXVA codec for both SD and H.264 content.

Next SVN will have some small additional fixes for graph release, please test with that one when released.

HD-SD TV viewing has nothing to do with this Haali release problem but that should be fixed also.

For your information I use a personnal 23971 SVN build and I have the same TV bug I have since the last SVN : Divx h264 HD don't work anymore in TV. I must use core AVC only but core AVC make many defaults on picture on zapping. Perhaps something better but not the ultime solution, there is something wrong :-/

    Hi Manfred,
I just have a question regarding dvd playback. You already mentioned that the issue I am seeing is probably plugin related. But has there been a change in timings or graph build up of ISO's with the improved core.dll? Before the change, I had no issue with this at all. But after I had.

    Thing I am seeing:
    with MediaPortal SVN-Snapshot:-10-10-2009 19-26h - Revision:23831.rar (without new core.dll) >> no problem with MovingPictures icw ISO's.
    with MediaPortal SVN-Snapshot:-10-10-2009 19-26h - Revision:23831.rar (with new core.dll) >> problem with MovingPictures icw ISO's.
    with MediaPortal SVN-Snapshot:-10-20-2009 20-02h - Revision:23908.rar (with new core.dll) >> problem with MovingPictures icw ISO's.

For a detailed logs (if you are interessted ofcourse) see this thread. I already posted the problem in the moving pictures thread, but Im not receiving the attention of the devs of movingpictures. (alteast not that I am aware of)

I am hoping you can say that you are 100% sure its a plugin issue, and not something else. If so, Ill start making more noise over the MovingPictures thread.
Would it be possitle to receive the old core.dll (for rev23908) to see if the problems are gone?
In the mean time, I have to live with not being able to play Iso's. :( So any help is very much apreciated.

    mediaportal-svn-10-28-2009--18-59-Rev23978.rar

With MPC-HC codec MP crashs after about 10 seconds (it simply closes and desktop appears).
With CoreAVC the first video ist played well but Haali is not disposed and MP crashs after about 30 seconds while playing the second file.

I have to test other codes, but all in all the behaviour seems to be the same as the with mediaportal-svn-10-20-2009--20-02-Rev23908.rar.

OK, nice to know that all is good.

Come on now! Should I now start to make some corrections by shooting with shotgun. LOGS are needed! Sorry but I will ignore all these 'nice to know' messages without logs.

Trying to play back MKV files with this SVN doesn't work. Most of the time it shows the first frame of the movie, but not always.

I can connect with Graphstudio and the graph looks ok to me, but I can only do this on the first file I play. If I press "stop" and select another file (or the same) there is no Graph to connect to.

I have attached logs and dump from Graphstudio. Some files play one time or twice, but with stutter, but then suddenly I get a "Unable to play: DTS 6CH 48000hz - Jumper 2007.mkv" even though I have just played the (stuttering as hell, but it played).

Playing back an MPEG2 file suddenly opens another DirectShow window. Sorry, but this SVN is even worse than the earlier :(

[edit]The Haali icon disappears ok from the tray[/edit]

Releasing graph are the only changes made to MP so starting playing or stuttered play does not fit under this thread. What I can see from logs is that ShowTimes grabber is doing something when tried to play(stutter?) and also MovingPictures used which throws and error (unable to play?) when stopping playing. So use plain MP for testing is my advice.
