Hi,

I'm new here so please bear with me. I have Hauppauge hvr-1800 hybrid card and am unable to get MediaPortal to detect it. Any advice about future support? Work arounds etc.?

Thanks

If you are talking about the built in TV engine within MP... probably not going to work. I know Dman has been testing the 1600/1800 on the TV server... and has made a TON of progress. I happen to have a 1600 for testing and it does work. Give the TV engine (tve3) a try and it should work for you.

    Hi folks,

I've got Tv server installed but card is not recognized. Checked the capture card xml file and there is an entry for 1600 but not 1800.

Any suggestions would be great. Is this going to be future fix? I don't want to keep wasting time on it if it is not going to work.

I am a Java programmer and have been a developer of various languages for 20 years if you guys need help on this. Just need some direction.

    Thanks for the help.

    Hi,
Last I checked the hvr-1800 card is not listed in the CaptureCardDefintions.xml file. That is where your card gets detected. I have a hvr-1800 and had to add the definitions to the file. I only use the ASTC tuner on my hvr-1800. below is my is a link to my hack at the settings. Good luck...

Got a reply from SD ... "Looks like your last successful download was on 5/23. On 5/24 for some reason we received 194 connections between 10:54 and 11:05 triggering a denial of service attack ban. The logs show it was lifted on 5/25, but I still see the entry in iptables. I reset fail2ban and hopefully you're working again." Weird...

4.5 is really old. I'm not sure 4.5.5 even is a version that actually existed. You should be able to install .NET Framework 4.8.0 on Windows 7 SP1

The reason I was thinking I needed more RAM is that TV now seems to be HiDef and so the files have grown. I edit the files before storing them, to reduce some size. It is finding that slower, I think. Or it could just be because I'm expecting more? The Baseboard manufacturer says ASUSTech Computer Inc; Baseboard product P7P55D-E...

I would have to know more details, and ultimately, I'll have to test it when I get my new display, but an AI answer I got (I don't trust AI and this may not be correct) was that HDR is encoded with the HEVC codec and I know MePo uses the HEVC codec to play 4K UHD Blue-ray discs. So, there is at least the possibility that it will work...
