Milkdrop itself, you get access by opening MP config\Music\Visualisation, choose milkdrop, wait 2 seconds and a seperate config panel opens.

I think it would be a good idea to include Milkdrop as part of the MediaPortal installation and enable it by default. Any reason not to do this?

The only errors that i can see are in the event log, one refers to your ATI driver, the other Cyberlinks Richvideo service not starting, either could be causing your issue.

Did you use a Driver cleaner prior to updating Video card drivers !!

OK tried that and did a clean and fresh install of Catalyst 8.5 and still have the same issue. I'll try 8.7 in a bit and see if I have the problem still.

    Edit:

Tried 8.7 and have the same problem still. On first boot it crashes MP when trying to play music. If I relaunch it's fine, but if I was to reboot again and try music it would crash again.

I got a white border when running Milkdrop in Mediaportal, but I dont have any in Winamp. Any way to get rid of it in Mediaportal?
