Turn on this option to have TV automatically start when you enter the TV section in MediaPortal.

I think this is not what Thomas is asking for.. He want to set a default channel that is always tuned when he starts live television..
As far as I know this is not possible, but it would be a usefull feature.. You can do a feature request Thomas!
I'm not 100% sure if when first opening mediaportal (fresh start) the above starts with first channel or most recent channel.

Is there a way to set which channel tv starts up on, it usually starts on digital channel 1 and I have to change it ti av6 for my sky reception. Sometimes it will start on av1 which I then have to change to av6. Would be great if it would start on sky.
It starts (on restarts) on last channel selected, but you may be able to manually (diddle with XML file) set this to a fixed channel - mileage will vary [works for poster, TOPOSPELEO, did not work for me, different setups:-] - see this thread.... all the vay down) https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/threads/to-start-the-tv-in-a-concrete-channel.110561/#post-970836

@CyberSimian Sorry, I missed your last post. I ended up doing a clean install on the client and all is well now. It still doesn't let me go back in time when I change channels but it does continue operating from that point on. I'm ok with that. Thanks for your help!

When I first start watching a TV program the timeshift functions works perfectly. I can shift back and forth in time and it works...
