this program is worth a post..

it works on Windows 2008 R2 aswell and it streams anything you need.. from live tv, recordings etc.. to any browser enabled gadget you can get your hands on ..

example: ipad, iphone, laptop , android phone etc..

it even works over 3g connection on the iphone.. watch TV anywhere you are.

you can schedule recordings , and much more.. this guy deserves some credit..

Wow - awesome latest version just worked for me on WS2008R2SP1 :) I had tried previous versions but hadn't been able to make it work - current version worked first try :)

Thanks for prompting me to try again :)

    Hi,

I have tried for several hours now to get Mediaportal TV server functioning on a 2008 R2 server. With no luck. It just cannot find my Hauppauge Nova-T USB DVB-T tuner (or the IPTV and Radiostream tuners). I have installed Visual C++ redist 2010 x64, the BDA R2 .msi fix from here - win2008workstation.com • View topic - TV Card (BDA Hardware Support) and the manual BDA fix from here https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...l-mediaportal-windows-2008-r2-x64-only-81774/

    I am using MySQL.

The server I'm using is a HP DL185 G5 with no sound card - don't know if thats a problem?

I can run the tuner in a 2003 R2 x64 server with no problems.

I have attached the error and the tv logs.

Windows is having no problems seing the tuner and does not complain about drivers or anything.

I hope someone can help me out.

    Regards
    Brian

    that MSI thingie is worthless..

you need to follow this guide to the letter.. take your time.. and it should work.
    you need to reboot afterwards...

How to add BDA support to Win2k8 R2:
This is setup for EN-US only.
    Download attachment https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/at...aforserver.rar
Extract to your windows 7 x64 drive (C:\),
(if you do not have it on C: you need to edit every batfile and infofile it has hardcoded c: in it!)

run get bda vista.bat (x64)on YOUR Windows 7 x64 PC. This is important because R2 is only x64 and you need an Windows 7 X64 PC.

now copy the whole bdaforserver folder "as is" to your windows 2008 R2 Box
Open and edit the file "Setup BDA.bat" (in c:\bdaforserver\setup for x64)
Now again a very important part. Press WINDOWSKEY + R and type "%systemroot%\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository"
A folder window should pop up. Now search a foldername which begins with "bda.inf_" and copy that foldername to your clipboard.
Now look again in the "Setup BDA.bat" file and look on top. There should be a folder in the copy path, named "bda.inf_57d991b5".
Replace that folder name ("bda.inf_57d991b5") to you before copied (Clipboard!) folder name you've found in "%systemroot%\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository"
Now save the file ("Setup BDA.bat").
run "Setup BDA.bat" on your server as administrator! (right click bat and choose "run as administrator") This is important! There could be some access denied errors but you can ignore them, because these file existed already.
After the next restart it should work without problems!

    good luck

Thank you - I will give it a try tonight or tomorrow. Shall I uninstall the .msi package, TV-tuner drivers and MP first?

And then install BDA batch file patch, TV-tuner drivers and MP?

    Regards

    Hello Brian,

I would uninstall the .msi package..

but you dont have to uninstall tv-tuner drivers and MP..
just make sure you manually stop the "tvserver service" before you proceed with the bda patch file ..after that reboot..and everything should be fine..

in case it isnt (dont think so) you could always re-install your tv-tuner drivers.

    good luck

    Hi limpwhizkid,

I have just uninstallede the .msi package. Rebooted. Stoppede TVservice and followed your guide - restarted the computer. But unfortunately no luck. At the moment I don't have access to a US Windows 7 - therefore I just extracted the files from my danish Windows 7 x64. Could that be a problem?

    Regards

    OK - I suspected that.

I have now extracted the files from a Windows 7 x64 US DVD and will give it a try once again - I will report back in a while.

The files have been copied to the server and the server is in the progress of restarting...........

YES it is working - the server can now se my Nova-T stick.

:D limpwhizkid. Mayby you should clarify that the files HAVE to be in the same language as the server is in.

Now I can start to set up Hyper-V and convert my VMware server Virtual machines from my old server :)

    Regards
    Brian
