    OK - I suspected that.

I have now extracted the files from a Windows 7 x64 US DVD and will give it a try once again - I will report back in a while.

The files have been copied to the server and the server is in the progress of restarting...........

YES it is working - the server can now se my Nova-T stick.

:D limpwhizkid. Mayby you should clarify that the files HAVE to be in the same language as the server is in.

Now I can start to set up Hyper-V and convert my VMware server Virtual machines from my old server :)

    Regards
    Brian

Hi Dazzle, glad it worked out for you ...

but maybe you should read the first post again .. :D (after you had some more coffee ? )
    i quote:
How to add BDA support to Win2k8 R2:
This is setup for EN-US only.

Jep thats how i am running it also .. 24gb memory and Win7 virtual machines, and Small business 2011 (to have outlook email and calender on the wifes ipad/iphone :D..

Hyper-v is much faster then vmware... MS is a bit late with virtual stuff.. but it works very good..

    :)Hi limpwhizkid,

Just returned from 10 days at Sicily :)

 - Now I'm fresh and can easily see that you already pointed the language stuff out pretty good :D

So :D again - and YES I look forward to try Hyper-V instead of VMware server which sucks bigtime.

    Damn 24Gig - and I thought than my 16 was a lot :)

Now I still have 1 week of vacation, so I expect to have the time to get my setup up and running smooth and nice.

just read through this thread and am trying to take it all in. I'm about to build a new htpc and am taking a serious look at MediaPortal. My hope is to use a Hauppauge Colossus to record from a HD DirectTV stb. It seems that this is possible with some work, but I'm considering using Windows Home Server 2011 instead of Windows 7. I'm just trying to get an idea if going with Home Server 2011 will be more work than just going with Windows 7. In this thread it is discussed that BDA drivers are needed, but it was not clear to me if Windows Home Server 2011 had BDA support out of the box or if they would need to be installed separately. Just curious if anyone has used Windows Home Server 2011 yet, and if so what issues or differences did they run into.

as far as i know, on WHS 2008, BDA was already included , so no hassle to get it running.
the logical thing seems to be that it is included in WHS2011 aswell ...

there is a thread specially for WHS 2008 somewhere on the MP forum .. search and find it :D

    Good luck

Can you please clarify. Does EN-US include EN-International (ie UK)?

Well, i'm kinda lost :( I wish thinks for once would work on the first attempt, but they don't :(
My TV Card simply doesn't show up in Device Manager (got an Digital Devices Cine CT V6, PCIe)

I first tried that .msi file and then read in the thread that that doesn't seem to work, so uninstalled it again.
Then used your method from your OP (hint: the Instructions.txt file included in your .rar file is totally different, and so confusing) ;)
I followed all steps to get the source files from my Windows7 x64 PC, moved the folder 'as is' to C:\ (root) of my server, edited the 'Setup BDA.bat' file and changed the foldername and ran the file as admin. Server rebooted but no new hardware in Device Manager :(

    What am i missing??
