I did not do it (disabling user account control). I have just done it and tried installing again. Still same issue. It looks like I'm missing a driver or something. setupTV.exe would crash before it got a chance to configure db. My box is connected to internet.

I've got the card up & running already in the HTPC itself. I must say, that after a bit of problems (which were fixed with hard reboots) it's running pretty sweet. Only problem i'm encountering is that TV Recordings stop after a time (did some testing last night and noticed a 4GB .ts file, so maybe it's related to size?) and that i'm getting a bunch of PES errors in my tsreader log, but i'm awaiting an USBCI-adapter to upgrade my CAM, since my current FW (v3.12  ) isn't supporting MTD.
I hope those tuning problems (no free card available) will be fixed after CAM update ;)
I already can watch/record from 2 separate transponders, but it's still buggy.

But so far it's looking good and seems like a great replacement for the FloppyDTV.

No offence, but rather have a messy case then those problems.... :D the wife needs to watch GTST or i am dead

that 4gb problem is easily solved... reformat your "recording" disk/partition as NTFS and not as FAT32 :p
Fat32 has a size limit of 4gb minus 1 byte...

    cheers

I hear ya, been there.... But i'm almost certain the card will work as it should after CAM FW update. MTD isn't supported on FW below 3.16 so that's gotta be my problem (fingers crossed). I can pick up the USBCI-Adapter tomorrow, then i can update CAM FW and if all works well, i'll keep you informed.

Off course it's formatted as NTFS, so the problem has to be something else. Need to test some more after CAM update.

Allright... let me know if it works after your cam update..
Where the beep do you find an usbci adapter anyway ? i normally used my dualboot laptop to stick it in and update it ..
    is it expensive?

not so easy solved then with the 4gb ... again .. lets see after the cam update (seems rather unlikely if you ask me)...

    Good luck though..

install teamviewer quicksupport (if you trust a stranger on your box that is ).. i will have a look for you..
TeamViewer - Free Remote Access and Remote Desktop Sharing over the Internet -> go to download.. scroll a bit down and find teamviewer quicksupport and run it..

send the userid and password by Private message ofcourse.. not as reply on this topic..

    Cheers

aha.. thanks man ... if they ever update alphacrypt classic again (hasnt been updated since 1 year or more )..
    ill get it :D

Indeed, i was very happy when i noticed that thingy on their website!

I just updated my CAM to v3.23 :p All seems to work great! 'Zapping' speeds also improved, tuning works directly and the best thing: No more PES errors in my TsReader.log!

Now it's time to test recordings and give you your thread back. :p
