i actually did try that a long time ago .. but didnt work for R2 at that time.. dont know if this is updated..

so backingup currentinstall and having a go :)
Didn't work for me. I eventually gave up and went to regular Win7. If you get it working, please post back.

nope same story, not working.. backup restored...
package seems to be made for windows 2008 x64 (without the R2).. maybe it works on that.. but doesnt work for me ..

i doesnt bother me that much , since my win2008r2 is tvserver.. i only use the MP client sometimes.. and at that time i can use the keyboard anyway to navigate..for normal watching i am elsewhere on win7 client, with has remote working :D

Good news! I got it working on 2008 R2 now.

    - Restart the computer and during startup, press F8.
    - Select Advanced Boot Options.
    - Select Disable Driver Signature Enforcement.

Now download eHome.zip from Convert your Windows Server 2008 R2 to a Workstation! - eHome IR Transceiver
    install driver following instruction there.

After reboot, I went to MediaPortal Config and chose MCE remote. Most keys are working in MP now.

But I still got a few issues.

    - test mode appears on the lower right screen.
    - a few buttons still do not work.

I will need to play around more.

Update - now test mode disappears.

I use this to remove it.

    Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider 1.3b

    well thats progress :D

But by using F8 and disabling the driver signing you should remove the part in de install.cmd where is says
testsigning=off ... before you run it..
because you used F8 .. thats the same function .. only the testsigning = off is more permanent and gives you the watermark..

so you could prevent that from happening in the first place :D

    Greetings from Austria,

sorry for my broken English :)

great job on your tutorial! But i still can't get my mediaportal working. Maybe u can help me limpwhizkid :D .

    My Server:
    win2k8
    mainboard: p8h78-v
    i5 4x 3Ghz
    8gb ram
    raid1 2tb

    TV-Cards + ci
    Octopus Ci + Duoflex S2
DuoFlex S2 Octopus CI - Digital Devices Distribution UG (haftungsbeschränkt)

    and
    a Second Duoflex S2
DuoFlex S2 Expansion - Digital Devices Distribution UG (haftungsbeschränkt)
    (So i have 4 Tuners + 2CI over one Pci-e 1x)

Installing the drivers on win2k8 worked fine but the Bda wont work. So my TV-card dont show up in mediaportal.
    I tried your tutorial.
First problem was that i could not activate Aero Design. I startet the two services (with automatic) but there is still no aero design selectable.
    Second Problem was
This is setup for EN-US only.
But i have a De-de for German operatingsystem

So then i tried the tutorial in the Instruction.txt from the download.
But this part was really confusing ^^
If you have any other language version then you have to manually copy ONLY
the "mui" files from vista to source\x86 or x64(for x64 version)\system32 and syswow64 if your on x64 version
Then on server same again, manually copy the "mui" files to system32 and syswow64 as well only
if your on x64 version of server, and then run the setup.exe to install.
Im using Win7 and i have no idea what to copy from this folder ^^

I also tried to install this win2008workstation.com • View topic - TV Card (BDA Hardware Support)

    Still no success :(

Thx for trying to help me
    I appreciate it!

the only way around the batch file for EN-US.. is to install windows 2008 R2 in english ..
then do the manual above .. and when your finished download the DE mui (german language file) and install it.. (its free)

that would certainly work since i done it for someone else already.. :D

editing the batch file to support German is a job i dont have the time for .. sorry...

ignore the instruction.txt it is made for vista... or read the instruction and replace vista with win7 x64 :D

    thx for your quick reply!

Ok, now i bought Win2008R2 Standard EN and installed it.

Then i did every step of your tutorial. Worked everything like described in the tutorial.
Then at the end i installed Mediaportal-server-only.

But then i realised that i have no server hosted, but the service is running.
You can see on the Picture that there is no [+] at "TV Server".
And when i click on "Streaming Server" or "Additional 3rd party checks" nothing happens...

    http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/5152/mediaportalnoserver.jpg

I also tried the 4 tuner on a Win7 PC and all 4 tuner where showed up at "TV Server -> ServerName".
The channel-scan couldn't find any channels on win7 but thats probably a different Chapter.

Do you have any idea whats wrong?

In the error.log i found the exception "DVBT card detection error"

Thx again für your help :D

if your machine is connected to the internet, i could remotely look things true.. (did that already for some other people also)
but then you have to trust me :D ,
you install teamviewer (teamviewer.com download) its free..
i can remotely control your session , and you can see what i am doing..

send me the ID and password with a PM (do not post the id and pass in this topic :D )
and i will have a look for you..

    Cheers
