I've cleared the 'prefer AC3' box for MP's TsFileSource filter and I now have sound when playing a ts file in MP, so that was indeed the problem. Thanks for the tip! I suspect this will be a problem for all UK users. Now let's hope DMAN_LFC reads this thread...
