Mediaportal: Enable the MCE remote plugin
click "Mediaportal configuration" on the desktop > Remotes > tick use Microsoft MCE remote or keyboard

    Job done :)

Perhaps my poor explanation, but if loading one of your scripts for EventGhost, this element of the MP Config needs to be unchecked. It should only remain checked if you disabled the items in EventGhost. Having both enabled - which is what I had - leads to the double skip problem.

Perhaps something more along the lines of:
'Ensure Microsoft MCE remote or keyboard command is UNCHECKED'

Your scripts work fine, the problem was I had both EventGhost and MCE remote enabled. Post #8 refers - this was purely a workaround you gave me for the double skip issue, but when I unchecked the MCE remote in MP config - all worked as expected

    :sorry:

yeh im now re-doing the xml files, im going to not use the eventghost mediaportal plugin. I think the inbuilt MP MCE remote plguin works well so why change it?

It will also be easier for anyone like u that already had it enabled, it just one less thing to go wrong.

All the new text has been edited, can you check it makes sense?

Im now gonna do some new xml files and then attach them.

    Oxy

Everything seems to be in order - will do a further check later this evening, or early tomorrow - just going out for the day - watching nephew play football, Indian then a few glasses of wine.

Just out of curiosity, what is your set-up (OS etc). I've tried uninstalling and re-installing MPC-HC and can't seem to get these "remember DVD position" and "remember file position" boxes checked. Similarily so with your instruction for dual-monitor use (though I don't need it, I did a quick check to see whether I could enable your instruction) the "Fullscreen monitor" option is greyed out.

This is what is displayed in the 'Miscellaneous'

    Miscellaneous
    Video
    Direct3D Fullscreen: moved to 'output'

    Does yours show the same?

Back again mate - Everything seems to be working fine - in terms of the guide, but I'm still having this problem with MPC-HC and its driving me crazy - uninstalled, re-installed, etc. Nothing I do seems to make the check boxes available - there is obviously a conflict of some sort but damned if I can find it.

With this exception and while I can live with it - if its there and available I would like to have the ability to use it - everything else seems to be working superbly.

    ISSUE RESOLVED AT LAST:-

Did a quick search on Doom9 forum and found the answer. On Player screen you have to ensure that 'Keep history of recently opened files' is checked - voila boxes available, checked them and now function properly - now have full functionality - might be worth adding this to the instructions.

You really are a glutton for punishment - let me know how you get on with it - might give it a try myself if your up for dual collaboration - ie you set it up and I follow your instructions ;)

If your really up for a challenge why not try xbmc - their skin loading etc is really slick - though I think there may be an issue regarding using external players - they have several skins worth looking at.

well meediOs doesn't support one of TV tuners so thats out the window. Now trying GB-PVR, the documentation is alot easier to follow, there wiki rocks. I don't think it has sweet plugins like moving pics & my Tv series, there are similar ones but from first glance they dont look so sexy. Still gonna give it a go.

XBMC also seems a no go for me as I don't think it supports TV playback at all.

Just had a quick look - interesting. Might have a play myself. Don't need support for TV Tuner - merely playback. Pity about xbmc, as I say their skins rock and transition is as smooth as silk - just coudn't get it to work for me, without the external player support.

Have to agree about the plug-ins - think I'll stick where I am at the moment - like the use of fanart etc. The GB-PVR ones just look bland in comparison.
